Otis Jiry's Horror Storytime - Otis Jiry Channel

9 жыл бұрын

Master Storyteller Otis Jiry tells this tale about a grown man, recounting a terrible accident which occurred when he was nine years old, resulting in the death of his older brother, and the burden he still carries to this day. Years later, in his attempt to come to terms with what happened and to make peace with it, he revisits the site of the incident, and makes a startling discovery guaranteed to ruin any chance of that happening... Pull up a chair, get some popcorn, put your feet up, have a listen... and maybe find a loved one. You're going to need a hug when this one is over.

Great reading, and good choice of story. What I like about it is that it could have been so easy for the author to pull something supernatural at the very last minute, like Teddy rising from the dead or Teddy's ghost haunting the lake, but instead they keep with the tone that is established and come up with an ending that is both chilling and does not force the reader to break the specific horror atmosphere that was created.

Mr. Jiry, thanks for this amazing narration. Everytime I listen to this it goes to show how guilt and shame can be as great a source of horror as any other. This is one of those gems. I am from Bangladesh and your story readings help me go to sleep :) God bless you Mr. Jiry. Peace.

This is probably the most horrifying story I have ever heard. I didn't even want to finish it halfway through, but I pressed through. I have a new bar for terror.

Struck a nerve, perhaps a little too close to home? Some suppressed memories trying desperately to claw their way back into your consciousness after hearing this comparable account?

It's like "It's a Wonderful Life", bad version, came true and the older brother was the one who drowned in the accident.

this was a great story! Ii loved the depth of the character as he went through guilt then depression through a kids eyes, but I feel that it wasn't really his fault he made the dare but it was teddys idea to go there so really if we were gonna blame someone it would be him. but it was good way to look through it threw a kids eyes cuz he would believe the older boys with what they said. sounds like another good idea for a movie

How has nobody found a human skeleton sitting against a tree for like decades? Like, does nobody ever walk down by the river which is obviously within a child's walking distance from civilization? Anyway, fantastic feelspasta 9/10 would feel again. - IGN
