Great tour. Iam impressed of the style. Looks like very fast, sturdy and comfortable to sail this cat. Is there any proyect for going to a 45 feet boat. Go ahead keep building such nice Catamarans. Thanks for the video.

Very different design concept to most other Cats. The thing that strikes me though is that the design keeps you inside, which is the last thing sailing is about. great for narly weather, otherwise I think I would feel like i'm sitting in a small unit.

Observation🤔 ..looks.you can open the back and large front window hatches ..the high roof allows most of the heat to be vented through the roof hatches. Insulation works both ways...

Its a beautifull design 👍👍since I got stuck a few times to the ground on my cat every year I would prefer a less vulnerable construction on the daggerboards and rudders

Always liked Maine Cats. Looking forward to the sea trial. Now to find the ideal compromise between the Maine Cat & HH. I apologize for comparing completely different types.

Looking at doing the sea trial on the MC38 in April. The HH50 will be in May. I think you'll see a good comparison.

Water dose not migrate with end grain balsa core, particularly when infused. It is probably stronger in shear and a lot less expensive than Corecell
@ROCKNAKSYACHTSALESINC
@ROCKNAKSYACHTSALESINC 3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately water does migrate in end grain balsa that is not properly protected. At our boat yard we see many boats that had water penetration through a fitting or thru-hull that the sealant failed on. In some cases the water migration expanded to the entire section of balsa which may include large areas of the deck, hull, or cabin sides.
@pbr-yt8zc
@pbr-yt8zc 3 жыл бұрын
@@ROCKNAKSYACHTSALESINC When you say properly protected, I presume you are referring being wetted out or set in lamination putty, where if not done correctly water can migrate between the skin and core or unfilled kerfs. The same could be said for any foam core including Corcell. The only big difference is balsa will rot if left wet. Countless tests by Baltek has shown that it will not migrate when laid up properly. Needless to say I will bet you have never seen water migration in an infused balsa panel.

Excellent job you’re building a beautiful boat there so I understand it’s a performance boat but would you consider it a live aboard long-term Bluewater boat cruising the Caribbean for two years up-and-down East Coast of the United States?

Usually, the outboard motor is bolted. To remove the outboard for servicing, such as oil and filer changes, will require lifting the whole boat out of the water. How can the outboard motor be service without lifting the boat out of the water?

I have a friend who went around the world in a Cal 25 and another on a 66' ketch. So, it's all relative of course. The Maine Cat 38 is well built, fast, and there should be a good selection to chose from when you are ready.

super n00b here. hoping to buy my first boat in the next 8-9 years. could you take this around the world cruising? so far it hits that sweet spot of having enough room to store everything I need + being small enough that I could sail it by myself.
@ROCKNAKSYACHTSALESINC
@ROCKNAKSYACHTSALESINC 4 жыл бұрын
Peter, consider getting involved in sailing now if your circumstances allow. Get a small, like 22' boat for little money and start exploring where you are. Sleep overnight on it, work on it etc.. Progress up over your eight or nine years with larger boats that have more capability. Then you will have gained the knowledge to answer the question you had asked and will know which direction you want to go. This way, you haven't lost time but rather added to what you eventually want. As you build your larger boat knowledge you can start to charter in areas of the world that interest you furthering your plans for voyaging.

I'm digging this boat big windows pilot house helm and two standard get them serviced anywhere outboard motors as a permanent livaboard? No but for a long vacation and weekend trips yes that Will do
@randito2387
@randito2387 4 жыл бұрын
What is the problem with using outboards on a permanent liveaboard? I really like the idea of having something that could be served and fixed almost anywhere. The Seawind 1610 lite also has these... and it seems like it would add a lot of storage. Genuinely curious, why you think that's a non-starter.
