This man spent the best days of his life on this boat. He doesn't really want to sell it. I can see tears in his eyes as he tells us how much he loves it. My mom kept her sail boat docked in the marina without sailing it for about 43 years after her husband died. She couldn't part with all of her romantic memories. 😥

This was a surprise in my "feed"... I have a model of this type of schooner - with a different bow shape, but just as beautiful. Rarely seen in the waters of Poole Harbour, Dorset, UK, I, nonetheless, yearn to see this type of vessel "strike" the waters in Poole Bay. Lovely presentation. a boat I can only dream of sailing in. Thankyou.

Fabulous video apart from the sound. What about showing the entire yacht. That includes hull and masts. A schooner is rather unique with the mast at the back being taller. Also, why is that?! I love this schooner. She is devine!!!!
@ForgotowToUserName4 жыл бұрын
larger mast in the back i would think make it so most of the power form the wind is "pushing" the ship rather than "pulling" and since a ship is steered from the rear it makes turning the bow more sharply possible/more effective.
@robertgeorgemiller2783 жыл бұрын
@@ForgotowToUserName I think the aft larger sail-plan was designed to be most effective running with the wind, for the 'clipper route' for world trade in the roaring forties - using the prevailing strong easterlies for round the world trade.

@kbrown4ou3 жыл бұрын
I wish you hadn't given the price. That would actually be just at the edge of doable for me. Of course, I'd have to sell everything I have and give up eating for a while and would have to keep under sail full time as I wouldn't be able to afford slip/mooring fees. But man, wouldn't that be a cool boat to live aboard and sail. I wonder if it comes with a parrot; or, if I'd have to supply my own.

What strikes me is how much she looks like a miniature model of a much larger vessel. Very cool. And I don't mind the layout at all. It's a classic working boat design. As crew, you worked hard on deck all day and after your watch, you ate your stew, and slept like a deadman in the salon with the other snoring guys. Needs a schooner man as new owner who can appreciate this. Hope she went to good hands

generally, when people don't show an asking price, it means they're hiding something or they're selective pricing as per their opinion of buyer. All the other sites selling vehicles (cars, boats, planes) that I have seen, show an asking price and update the price on a regular basis as long as the item is advertised. All that being said, I love the look of this craft and feel it would be a worthwhile investment. Also, you might want to edit and completely view your videos before posting them (more specifically, make sure your audio is balanced).

Pretty boat, but, for passage-making, there are some major shortcomings in the layout. The worst is the engine position. Heaven knows how people in the cabin immediately aft will sleep while it's running, quite apart from the oily smell that must permeate the whole interior of the boat. The chart table is right under the companionway where spray and rain will ruin it - and your charts. The rope-locker is reached via someone's berth. That's a curse for anyone either on-watch and needing ropes or off-watch and sleeping. A lesser issue is the location of the instruments; they're partially hidden when the companionway doors are open.
@reallynotyourbusiness16593 жыл бұрын
The biggest thing you overlooked....imagine 'sailing' her in the Carib. No protection....and to build protection takes away from her lines.
@hughmaxwell81433 жыл бұрын
Some rose- colored sales talk here. This boat would be a pain in the neck in the ICW, and Anything over six foot draft is pretty limiting in the Bahamas.
@davidwootton6834 жыл бұрын
She is beautiful, but! It is very easy to make adverse comments about her. I spent years working on, and sailing yachts. The no: 1 thing is what are you going to use her for. 2, The layout is not the most friendly for passage making. At 4:10, the galley. This is a high traffic area to the Fore Deck? I would not like to try and cook for six people in that area in a pitching sea. When they have just been overhauled, they are at their best. I would not crew her on my own. Minium 3 people. Engine noise and fumes. Not great for Mal der Mer. I think this was someone's project. You can have lots of fun with her, but you will need deep pockets to run her, and look after her. Thanks for video.
@ROCKNAKSYACHTSALESINC4 жыл бұрын
Hi David, you need to think 1930's! This is a typical Murray Peterson Schooner design. Has all the bells and whistles of what was once in popular use. You can single hand but two crew is sufficient. Engine is quiet. Fumes are controlled. In the area where the boat is now there are at least 25 similar looking boats that have been in constant use with some of them in service for over a century. For offshore there are lots of boats made of other materials and have aluminum masts with specific hull designs to choose from. Remember, this is a Murray Peterson Coastal III. You'll find its fine for its intended application.
@davidwootton6834 жыл бұрын
@@ROCKNAKSYACHTSALESINC Thankyou for your kind reply. Yes you are right in this regard. This Yacht is for someone out there. As you get long in the tooth, the days of hand steering in bad weather do not hold the same attractions they use to. Keep safe. Regards David.
