1989 was very cool .... it looked like the world had decided not to blow it's brains out. It turned out that even the old Soviets loved their children, too .... Modern Russians by and large don't have children. The only thing propping up the birth rate in the Russian Federation are the poorer rural areas full of Muslims.

@mdnblues5 ай бұрын
Sorry, but you don't play metal on fenders and les pauls. Cinderella were a bluesy hard rock band so ofcourse they could get away with playing the oldschool instruments - but if we're talking speed metal [which peaked in popularity in the 80s], you would straight up look goofy trying to play it on a fender like the one Tom is playing here. I think only Iron Maiden play metal on old school guitars - everyone else is "pointy".

Three thoughts....First, if you did not live during this time, you have no idea the impact that this festival had. Look at how happy those people in the crowd are. Hatred and rivalries were forgotten, replaced by peace and rock 'n roll. Second, I saw Cinderella live 4 times, by far the tightest band I have ever seen. Having had a short career playing in two bands when I was in school, trust me, they were truly an incredible band live. Finally, God rest your soul Jeff Labar! I remember watching this I think it was Much Music. Holy shit, boy did that set rock. Bloody awesome. Those fans got a real treat. Love Cinderella, totally rock and roll. Tommy was phenomenal. What a set. 2022, Tommy is still rocking. God bless him and the late Jeff Labar. Miss you Jeff, you rocked.

Tom sat behind me at a Brittany Fox show in North Jersey, probably 1986. He kicked my chair and I turned around and said, "Yo, Tommy!". He high-fived me and said, "Yo, dude!". This story is cool cause I was 14 yrs old at the time. Cool guy.

I had Tom sign my knockoff Strat back in 1990. This band was very influential in the styles I adopted. The signature still exists even tho my hair is gone, and this music still moves me.

Cinderella was a great band. Unfortunately they got thrown into that "hair metal" genre, but they were so much more. Tom Keifer is extremely talented...he can write, play, perform, arrange, produce.....hes just a very talented musician who was always underrated.

Into my opinion, they were super talented hard rock/blues oriented. If some idiot paper stainer decided to classify them into the Hair Metal genre . . . It was his mistake.
