@@groovezmuzume0210 Yes you can....there are 8×8 a total 64 sound pads. You can download your own sound or use Audacity to record and save them as mp3 and using the software assign it to the individual pads. Hope that helps. Cheers mate 👍

Actually, high pass is a control that sets the frequency above which audio passes without reduction -- i.e. it passes untouched. Frequencies below that setting are increasingly reduced in level according to how much lower in frequency they are. The high-pass allows one to minimize content that comes from thumps, rumbles, low frequency vibrations, 60 Hz electrical power noise, and so on, that are usually from the environment and not a normal or useable part of a person's voice. They often come through physical floor, table, stand vibrations, air vibrations caused by floors, walls, ceilings, equipment in the environment including heating and air conditioning and outside noise. They can also come from plosives in speech (sounds from plosive consonants such as B, D, G, K, P, and T) that aren't sufficiently screened out by the mic or separate pop screen. The plosives are bilabial (B, P), alveolar (D, T), or velar (G, K) in order of higher to lower tendency to affect a microphone with a low frequency pop. The further forward in the mouth the plosive is produced, the greater the plosive is presented to the microphone. Distance from the microphone and angle towards the front of the mouth also affect plosives in close micing. Notice that in broadcast with very close microphone placement to the mouth, the placement is frequently done so that the person's front of their mouth talks across the front of the microphone at a slight angle rather than into it head on so that the larger part of the plosive doesn't go directly into the microphone head on. One can usually set a high-pass to a higher frequency, say 100 to 200 Hz for a female voice depending on their natural vocal range, and a lower frequency for a male voice, say 40 to 80 Hz or maybe as high as 100 Hz, depending on their natural vocal range. One should not set it higher than needed or where it begins to remove bottom end of their voice -- people will sound unnatural if set too high for their voice -- the voice will lose fullness and sound thin. Of course, you can do some mix engineering for instruments and music vocals being mixed and blended but that's probably best done in post processing unless it's totally live work. Using it for controlling a vocal and instrument mix is really beyond adequately discussing here.

Great video! The bit on the high pass filter is a bit misleading though. You mention that increasing it to 200Hz will eliminate everything above 200Hz. This isnt true since its a high pass and not a high cut filter. As you increase the value, you can hear your voice getting thinner and less bass-y. The high pass filter helps remove low frequencies. At 200Hz it will eliminate all frequencies in your voice below 200Hz and not above. Just thought Id add this here incase anyone needs the info. Great content otherwise! Cheers!

A High Pass Filter is not designed to cut out high frequencies but low rumble frequencies like an airconditioner in the background with that low rumble. The high Pass Filter helps to cut those out and allow the highs to pass through. Bill Mahon

Nice video - got the bit on the high pass filter backwards - the high pass is a filter that cuts the low frequencies (letting the high frequencies "pass" through). It's designed to remove rumble and other things that sit in those low frequency areas.

Purchased my Rodecaster Pro a few weeks ago and and went from zero to success pretty quickly. What a great item for creating professional podcasts! Pared with a Sampson Q2u microphone on a boom and I am getting very high quality audio recordings with music at the intro and outro. Converting the wav files to mp3 is easily accomplished with Audacity. Awall, your video instructions are great. Now I need to select a podcast hosting provider.

Thank you for the video! I'm just in the process of viewing it and you were just explaining the high-pass filter. I think you mixed it up, it does the opposite of what you said. The high-pass filter, which is synonymously called low-cut filter, is used to cut off low frequencies and let high frequencies pass through.

The audio processing now just lists toggles for these different audio processing features ie compressor, high-pass filter, etc.. and the same toggles for the aphex features. It's either on or off. Is there no way to dial these in now?

Also can you hook up a turntable or CD player to the mike input. Again, you do a fantastic job, I can’t say enough how much I enjoy your work. Much success Terry

Bring in audio via USB to monitor incoming audio from computer like NDI inputs - need to send audio out via an analog output directly into a camera, which brings combined audio & video in to the computer into recording or streaming software. Problem is that USB mix minus doesn't apply so it results in an audio loop for the audio coming in via USB. It needs to have a "live mix" option to send out desired audio channels via analog.

This is a great video, thank you! Very informative and I like the way you explain everything. Can you please make an adjustment though? The portion about the High Pass Filter is incorrect. You are saying that it cuts high frequencies, when it actually does the opposite - it cuts low frequencies. You can even tell in your video, when you start to adjust the meter and the bass in your voice is adjusted. Can you please change this portion of the video to correctly explain a High Pass Filter? It's called High Pass because it allows the high frequencies to pass, and cuts the lows. If you can't change the video, can you at least acknowledge all the people that have commented and say that you are wrong? Thank you! I would love to avoid any possible confusion by people using the High Pass Filter incorrectly, both with the Rodecaster and in any other scenario regarding a high pass filter. Thank you!

Has anyone ever experienced where the mixer splits the vocals and instruments and then only plays the vocals or voice when talking to others via phone or computer. Meaning, I play a song through USB on comp, sound settings to the mixer (rode), the other end only hears the audio, like it’s stripping the music. Has anyone experienced this? I’ve done tons of tests and the rode tech team hasn’t gotten back to me. This is new, it’s not firmware cause the older firmware doesn’t work either. I tried it on 5 different devices and no luck. Only had it since 2021 and everything else works great, but last month or so this issue started. Any idea? it used to work perfectly fine
