This is such a deep, haunting, prophetic, piece of poetry. Please keep doing what you do Rodney, youre an absolute treasure as a musician, storyteller, poet, and a human being. I also love this video clip... It reminds me a lot of the clip that JC had accompanying his take on "Hurt", shortly before his untimely passing over a decade ago. It really tugs at the soul. Bless you, my man.

Great words Rodney . Thanks. I had a similar incidence some years back . I slipped on snow and cracked my head. I remember going home and my mom said I said I kept saying the same words over and over , I don't remember it. I had spotty memory as she took me to ER I had an MRI , not fun but had a slight concussion and a bruise on my head . It was freaky to say the least! Glad you doing well

Seeing him on the Outsiders tour at Ross Raleighs old Southgate House was one of my favorite shows ever. Considering I've seen at least a thousand shows in my 65+ years, it is a true compliment to this intelligent, thoughtful, fun human.

I was at that show in Newport as well. To this day I tell people that it was the best concert I'd ever been to. He pulled my friend up on stage that evening to sing "Like a Rolling Stone." And that group that was assembled... Wow. Rodney, Will, Jedd, Denny and Keio. I'd pay a lot of money to see them perform as a group again.

@@TheSleepinDogs You're beautiful friend didn't know the words to the Beatles classic. No problem. I followed RC outside after the show, got him a place to sit, then told those assembled to go buy some merch and he would sign it. I then sheepishly asked him if he would sign stuff. He said yes, so I went and got some stuff which he signed and I still treasure.

@@freetickeys It's true! He said he knew most of the song but was so nervous when he was pulled up that he went blank :) - And yes, I got a picture with him and a signed CD as well out back. He had his '72 Martin D-35 with him and as he was taking pics and signing things, I asked If I could hold it for him and strum some chords and he said of course! LOTS of amazing songs written on that thing.

In 2014 I had an experience and the doctor diagnosed it as transient global amnesia. It was quite bizarre! When I saw the title to the song I had to listen to it. Lol Rodney Crowell is the best!

It's great that you have made great artistry from/in spite of your travails, Rodney. I remember the mystery illness that finally got diagnosed you wrote about to your fans several years ago. After that, Close Ties and Acoustic Classics. I Couldn't go, but I saw the video of your Hardly Strictly Bluegrass performance with that fabulous acoustic band you put together. What a treat! You looked and sounded invigorated. Persevere!

I had a little stick of an oak tree growing in the corner of my yard. I didn't want it there and cut it down. For 40 years it grew back and I'd cut it. Finally I said to it, "you really want to live!" So I let it be. I smile when I see it, 20 feet tall and straight.. Prettiest little oak tree you could ever see. Last week my neighbor said he wanted me to cut it down.

@Rodney Croswell Hi Rodney, Thanks for reaching out. I've been following your career since first I heard you when CMT came to our shores back in the 90's.. Have to say you have never disappointed. Being a tad younger, the sentiments on Triage seem very apposite to me, I feel you are putting into words and music the things I feel but perhaps can't express as you can. Don't know that I would offer advice to you but I would just say that a certain Mr Paul McCartney, perhaps one of the greatest songwriters of this or any era whilst still a a great performer perhaps hit his peak in his song writing early on. It seems you are still in the zone. When I heard *It Ain't Over Yet" I was blown away, it sounded what it is, a classic for ever. The line "I know this about that", so simple but stunning, why has no one come up with that before? Advice, I would say keep on trucking but having seen your tour schedule guess I am not the first to offer that nugget of wisdom up. Also, now that I'm on a role, having looked at your biog on your website, Etta James, John Denver et al? I need the album of the artists singing your songs, Christmas is coming don't ya know? Dad had a Transient global amnesia episode once. He never had another. He was on TDY his coworker took him to the hospital. I bet it's a scary experience.
