I like how Sonic.exe ends up losing not because of some random plot armor stuff, but because of an actual oversight, and eggman outsmarting him with his plan

It was likely that EXE didn't account for Metal Sonic since he, by technicality, didn't possess a soul. This allowed Eggman to plan an ambush tactic with Metal Sonic, who possessed the single strongest attack in the Classic Era: The Maximum Overdrive, which could burn through any material including the unbreakable spikes. Either way, well done on the thematic theme of the steel-plated Faker being the key to distract the blood-crying Faker.

We all learned a valuable lesson. No matter how evil, Metal Sonic will always be the goat.

i absolutely adore the way knuckles, eggman and metal were basically escorting tails up to when Sonic joined in, it really shows that when their world is at risk they will stick together as an army. Tails was never alone in this fight.

i dont know if this was intentional or not, but the fact that eggman thinks of metal sonic as soon as the word "son" floats by in the background is such a nice little thing

A few bits I love 3:17 I love how somber and hopeless the music feels here, you feel like Tails and everyone's doom is imminent and there's nothing that can stop the darkness closing in around them But then you get a sudden shift in tone at 4:40 when Metal Sonic's eyes flash from within' the darkness and the melody becomes hopeful and triumphant again, you actually feel like they managed to pull through at the very last moment and everyone is saved. It's a very clever choice to use "What I'm made of" from Sonic Heroes here because it takes on a completely new meaning. It's no longer a song played for a boss you're fighting it's become a song about how you've broken free from your shackles and can't be toyed around with any longer, they're no longer bound by X's rules and are going to escape.

After eggman died his eggmobile can be seen going back into background to probably get metal. Jus proves how smart Eggman really is and how much he trusts his tech to get the job done in time.

People usually underestimate Metal Sonic in .exe scenarios. He was created to be the definitive counter to Sonic himself by matching his speed, power and maybe even more in durability. Theoretically, X can torture all the other characters because they had souls, however Metal Sonic does not so he decided to not bother with him. He over looked Metal Sonic and that ultimately is what made him lose. He didn't account for how powerful Metal Sonic would be.

This is an awesome take on Final Escape. A very rare instance of Sonic.exe related material that not only respects the sonic universe as a whole but also gives it a fair and canon reason as to how X could be defeated even with all that power. Amazing work!

I do kinda like how Metal didn't beat X, but mealy knocked Sonic's soul free. It's a great way to weaken X without making Metal overpowered.

Metal Sonic literally takes the W for this one. He is SO underrated in the EXE series, and I'm actually so happy he got acknowledged. This video is probably the BEST, if not, ONE of the best videos in the EXE fandom. Props to you for making this!

Metal Sonic is the hero we don't deserve

I really love how after EXE was weakened/removed from Sonic, his design references an actual Sonic 3 glitch that messed up Sonic's pallette and made him look like Sonic.exe. That's some great attention to detail! Overall, this remix was incredible! Your music just in general is very good.

I love how he uses classic characters instead of Sally and Cream, they look better, as well as using the classic design of Amy. He understood what a sonic.exe game should have, no doubt a great job. Edit: i LOVE the reference to "Play With Me"

I absolutely ADORE the shift in the tone of the music at 2:35. It's like you can FEEL the fear and the need to run in the music and the more intense tone makes me think "oh, this is all they have left. He's the last one and all he can do now is SURVIVE."

The whole thing is magnificent. Having the characters each be taken down in ways similar to how they were in the game, having Knuckles turn around when running and attacking the mirages, the Blue Spheres easter egg screen with X and Tails being the only two alive, Then the climax with Metal and all of them fighting back to stop him. The best part had to be at 4:00 with Tails falling in place around the souls of his lost friends and the box closing on him like it did Sally in the game. Such a masterpiece.

Loved how you put so much detail and references to the video. But overall, I’m surprised of how you mixed other musics together in such a creative way. You’re crazy man, shout-out to everyone who worked on this!!

Ok so I absolutely love this animation so I wanna take a few minutes to talk about how good this is. First, the level of detail. There are little touches to this I loved like Sonic exe using the insta shield to break eggman's eggmobile, The lives being the character's First letter like Mania's encore, Tails icon flashing as he's the "final life", the fact the score is not just blank and actually has a amount to it, the timer being broken, and the game being called "Sonic.exe" when the game seems to crash. Also I love that the Sonic exe separated form has the sonic 3 ending palette glitch. Great touch. Second thing, I like that the way Tails and the other's won made sense. Having Metal Sonic ambush Sonic exe while he's distracted and basically make him "lose a life" to separate him from Sonic's body was not only a smart idea but also makes sense game wise, as it would make sense that if Sonic was being controlled by Sonic exe that making sonic exe "lose a life" would separate him from sonic's body. Much like how you lose a powerup after dying. Lastly I gotta give props to the animation itself, while yes most of the sprites were used from official sprite sheets and not made just for this video they were used smartly and done in a way that made it feel natural. Not once while watching then I feel like something was off or shouldn't have been there. And plus the way it was animated really made it feel like a sonic game. The way they moved jumped and turned during the animation felt as it should and never felt floaty or uncanny. Overall, amazing animation. This is a great video and I can't wait to see if you'll do more animations in the future.

That finale was fantastic. The key change coupled with V. Overdrive suddenly boring into Exe's chest was an excellent use of Chekov's gun - gave me chills. I loved the use of the TMNT brass, harkening back to the use of the orchestra hit that's been there from the start, helping to tie it all together. I saw the post on Twitter when you were first teasing this, and was totally hooked by that intro. It was great having the finished product be recommended to me.

I always adored this song. The familiar tones of a sonic track, some you can idfioety turned into a struggle. EXE is dominating most of the track, a desperate dash that you arnt even sure you'll make it to the end until the end where it turns triumphant, a light rendition of a ever powerful sonic track, What Im Made of. The music leading you onto to the final escape.

I knew it sounded familar when I heard 2:34! This take of Final Escape is so well done.

Ok, this is an amazing remix and it sounds like something out of the actual genesis era- but the VISUALS! It looks authentic like it's a recording of a game, and it's just to showcase a song! I absolutely adore the incorporation of Encore Mode mechanics from Sonic Mania, and all the visual references to past Sonic games with the twisted Sonic.EXE spin on them is really cool to see, the "Play With Me" reference gave me nostalgia I didn't even know I had, and the Sally.EXE reference... ohh, that takes me back. The ending featuring the ENTIRE cast of the classic games (with sprites, anyhow) is something I've never seen anything Sonic.EXE related do, so even if it's just a series of cameos it's still a first for this fandom to my knowledge, and EXE's last appearance being Sonic 3's sprites with Sonic 2's palette is a deep cut I was not ready for. There's just so much to admire, I wish there were more animations like this one.

I have been coming back to this every few days since it released, watching it multiple times every time (i did the same thing with confronting yourself, which correct me if i'm wrong, but i assume is the prologue to this?), and it blows me away every time. The entire composition and pacing of the song, the storytelling both in the presentation AND in the meaning of the melodies and leitmotifs you chose?? Absolutely phenomenal. Hands down one of my favorite sonic.exe anythings. I also have my theories for why metal was able to catch X off guard (im not sure if this is xenophanes or just sonic.exe 2011 so i'll just call him X), but it sounds a bit silly to write down lmao. I'll just say it is refreshing to see them like..actually win for once? I understand the hopelessness is the point in sonic.exe, but it gets a bit rote when it comes to an actual narrative. Its why Spirits of Hell/Sally.exe is still one of my favorite versions of the story, simply bc u know..they can fight back. So its good to see the "final escape" concept applied to the souls and not just boyfriend!! Anyway, great job, cannot wait till your next release, whatevwr that may be. Ps. The fact this was all sprite editing in sony vegas blows my goddamn mind. You're getting leaps and bounds better too with each animation!!
