Can you print sweaters with this machine? i haven't seen a single video on youtube showing this? wonder why. Also how long do the inks last, all the videos also on youtube don't point this out either, just curious the ink is a very important aspect of your business.

At the top of the tutorial, there's a mention of the life expectancy of a garment printed with the BT-12. It seems like if you choose the Pro2 setting you can only expect "up to" 20 washes. That seems VERY low compared to the industry standard which appears to be about 50 washes. Does the expectancy increase and get closer to 40 or 50 washes if you pre-treat the garment?

Yes - use a light garment pretreat for your shirts to increase washability and vibrancy of colors.

those erasable pens aren't really. heat makes the ink 'invisible' but if you chill the fabric down (as in cold weather or fridge--- or even standing too close to A/C, the ink can become visible again.

the light blue ones we used dont show up in cold. i guess depends which pens u use?

What’s the difference between BT12 and the Ricoh/anajet Ri100

Those two are completely similar because they are OEM. They are both manufactured by the same facility and they just stick their logos on it after production.

We use the twin brother of the BT12 which is the Ricoh ri100 for 2 years now. Seeing how you test print on paper is wrong! you should tape the paper down - there is a reason why the tray has a locking mechanism for the shirts. You wont need the height adjustment if you did that. And wow - look at that excess shirt on the side! THAT'S VERY WRONG! I mean look at your manuals! it is not advisable! oh no - it will get caught when the cassette starts moving!

Take my word,d folks, think twice about doing business with Roland. Their customer service is HORRIBLE! I have spent nearly $8,000 on two pieces of equipment and have had nothing but problems. I bought the equipment for my sign shop and it has been broken more than it has worked! I have the BT-12 and it is basically a paperweight. I am probably going to sue them to recover my costs as they have left me with no other options. Seriously, one of the worst decisions I have ever made in this business was doing business with Roland.
