I love this video - I too am blessed with an AD purchased 116500ln (white dial for me) but I also love the black!! It’s my favorite watch ever and always will be for all the incredible reasons you so perfectly said in this review but you’ve got one MAJOR advantage for this watch over me! It fits you so perfectly and im JEALOUS of that! I have a 7.5 inch wrist and so I actually wear Rolex watches straight out the box how they come ! No sizing necessary for me .. anyway, it still looks great but admittedly a TOUCH small for my wrist which is my only complaint for it.. but it just looks so perfect on you, as i said JEALOUS!!

Congratulations! I have wanted a Daytona for a long time and have pretty much given up on getting one. I bought my Submariner new and so, I would like a new all stainless steel Daytona also but the timing has to be...perfect. I have considered the 2nd hand market but the prices have gotten too rich for my taste.

I love this watch, don’t get me wrong, but a sugess chrono almost ticks all the same boxes for 300$, that you mention. I don’t think a daytona can stand out on a spec sheet and justify the price, it’s more the emotion behind it. But I enjoyed the video alot, nice close ups of this beautiful watch.

just brought mine 3 weeks ago..went black face not keen on the white...wears nicer than any of my other Rolexs...and sparkles in the light, the black dial looks so good against the high shine bracelet and dials. you dont get this contrast on the white one

I purchased the same black Rolex Daytona. I thought I was buying a preowned Rolex. Unfortunately PayPal sent me a message. The company that I was purchasing the watch from was a fake Rolex. Also, there was two digits missing from the tracking number I couldn’t track the watch two weeks went by PayPal got the other two digits the third week on a Friday. I got my watch. It was Wrapped in plastic in a Rolex box with all the papers . A watch dealer seen the watch on my arm and said to me you paid a pretty penny for that watch 27,000. I decided to tell him after he looked at it that it was fake. He said no way took it in the back, put it on the right microscope and said this was a super clone. Unfortunately, for the people that sold me the watch PayPal did not pay them. 🤣 also PayPal gave me my money back also told me to keep the watch.😂🤣😂

Watched all 5 min to figure out what those clocks within the watch do but nope we’re talking about aesthetics. I’m guessing top is a stop watch, what does bottom one do?

The Daytona dial is an absolute mess. Back in 1988, when Rolex switched to the Zenith movement (and carrying all the way through to today’s 4131 movement), a 4 Hz frequency is used, meaning the chrono hand moves in 1/8-second increments, but the dial is indexed in 1/5-second increments. So even though Rolex claims that one can measure elapsed time down to 1/8 second with the Daytona, it’s not true because the dial can only give readings down to 1/5 second. So the movement is out of sync with the dial and the chrono hand will never line up with a 1/5 second hash mark. Rolex should either eliminate one mark between each second to allow 1/4 second readings (and allow the 4 Hz movement to be in sync with the dial) or keep the existing dial and regulate the movement to 5 Hz, allowing the movement to be in sync with the the existing dial. Additionally, the minute sub-dial is shit. The 10, 20, and 30 minute numerals each block out three minute hashmarks, potentially giving the user a difficult time reading the elapsed minutes.

It is kinda funny that you buy an expensive watch, pay $14.000 and you get a black one instead of Panda. And your comment? "Beggers can't be choosers". WHAT? This sums perfectly what Rolex did to watch enthusiasts. They way they played us. It's ridiculous. We want to buy an overpriced, decent product (nothing special though) and WE are beggers? LOL. It is really fucked up.
