I actually love this watch...the yacht master is way less common then a sub or date just, and it’s sort of a blend of the two models. Sporty like the sub but shiny like the date just. And I appreciate the bi-directional bezel!

Great video you hit the nail on the head! I have the blue dial and I love it very underrated watch. I got rid of my SD 50th anniversary for this watch and have no regrets it’s a perfect size for my 6.75 wrist!

For me, this the best modern sport Rolex case size and design. I love it so much that I bought both the Blue and Rhodium versions. I wish Rolex would use this case for the next generation Submariner. The current Subs are way too bulky, and the recent trend for massive watches seems to be subsiding.

I think the current Subs sizes are great for diving but can be a little bit large for casual wear. Now they could produce different versions of the Sub for different lifestyles but I think that may just be splitting the egg. I think the YM and other options are the gap fillers.

I always wore a Sea Dweller. But then I got a YM rhodium dial. Liked it so much I got the original full 18K yellow gold version as well.

Congratulations on yet another excellent rewiew. For me the Yatch master is one of the most beautiful and interesting watches in the sport Rolex line. It manages to maintain a distinct presence and an unrivaled balance between sporty style and luxury, while being discreet without screaming "I'm a rolex!" as the sub... as an appreciator and fan of the brand, in my opinion I believe that the yatch master in parallel with the Sea dweller are the pieces that mark the most distinction and statment, and great value pieces in a future.

Nice video, I am subscribed now. Ordered this watch 3 months ago, like it a lot, best Rolex imho. Also seems like the lack of AR coating does not matter so much on non-black dials, but I might be wrong about this...

I am lucky enough to own this exact watch as well as a Sub (11610LN). I think the Yachty is the most underrated watch Rolex makes. It’s absolutely stunning! And it’s not the same as a Sub, both are wonderful watches and different enough to get both for your collection:) Great video, Hafiz!

Polishing the underside might cause glare under the sun at certain angles, brushing or bead blasting the underside is the better option.

I just got the YM 126622 with the rhodium dial. It looks much better in person compared to pictures. I’m loving it but concerned the platinum bezel will get scratched the first time I bump something. Anyone else have that problem? Great video.

Erik Marsh I have the YM with the blue dial. I bought it two years ago and wore it every day for every activity. At some point, I ended up scratching the top triangle, and it’s really distracting. The Rolex AD told me they could send it to Rolex in Chicago, and they can buff it out for about $300. I may do that. I still love wearing it, but I don’t like wearing it for everyday wear like I used to. For that, i will alternate between my GMT Master 2 (“Pepsi”) and yes, my Apple watch. But make no mistake, the YM is my fave.

Great video and channel thanks Hafiz! I just ordered the YM40mm blue and was told I would get it within a couple of months, amazing! I really think it is an amazing looking watch that you do not see very often. The blue dial is one of the best I have ever seen, the colour tone changes dramatically depending on the light. I absolutely do not like the baby blue hand on the slate grey model, to me it looks highly uncoordinated.

Amy B. To me it just checks all the boxes in a way few other watches do. It’s the perfect combination of beauty, robustness, waterproof, bomb-proof. Plus it’s relatively “unique” in that Subs are seemingly everywhere but you rarely see a YM on someones wrist. It is a step up in style/elegance from the Sub....yet this piece can be worn in any and ever occasion. I could go on and on... But I’ll leave you with this. In time, I’ve grown bored of every other watch I’ve owned. However many years later I always smile when I see this piece on my wrist.

just bought one a month back (my first Rolex)in dual tone rose gold choc dial 40....absolutely elegant classy and super rich.....fell in love the moment I saw it....and bought it ...my first Rolex.To be honest i wanted to buy GMT /skydweller two tone...... but the waiting period was rediculous .... but then while I was sitting at the ROLEX AD this watch caught my eye Sitting in the shelf and when I tried it in i felt kicking myself as to why dint I shortlisted this one ??? Honestly speaking even if they gave me the gmt/skydweller even at that very moment I would’ve gone for YM as it’s a stunner....I honestly feel it’s got all the best features Of all rolexes put in one.....love the polished lugs... the size is perfection (it’s a watch midway to datejust and gmt in terms of style size class and finess )and it’s the watch which is on both sporty and dressier side.You have to see this watch in person to justify the awesomeness of this watch fellas.One word HEAD TURNER !

On the Rolex website there is a crown between Swiss and Made at the bottom of the dial. What is that about? Do some models have that and others don’t?

Always loved this watch, it was my first Rolex. So comfortable and sleek. Only thing i hated about it is the bezel get scratched and then looks like crap. You can polish it cause of the sand blasted area. Wore it for 2years and made 3k and put towards another Rolex. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Radoslav Milev you are correct. My AD has the rhodium and will order me the blue. I should have bought in December- now I will pay a higher price - such is life :-)

I don’t believe there is unless you go aftermarket.

@@HafizJMehmood I would love to go aftermarket for the bezel, it is similar to changing the strap/bracelet (no need to open the watch). But I don't know where to look. I just think the platinum bezel is too delicate and heavy. The numbers are also a bit too big in proportion to the watch, the submariner has gotten it right though. Maybe I am trying so hard to make the Yachty into a watch it isn't. Thanks for your videos Hafiz, hope you are in good health these days.

@@MrHealthcareman I don't mind the looks of a platinum bezel that is delicate. But I think the proportion are slightly exaggerated on the minute indicies. For instance, Oris Aquis Date Relief is a copy of the Yacht Master but better proportionate bezel.

Good presentation; easily one of my favs from rolex's current offerings That said, the bezel insert in relief should be ceramic - it needs to be more robust. There was also no need to go maxi-dial - it positions the yachtmaster line far too close to the submariner. Finally, given the changes the price should come down significantly, as it would offer less than the sub all told.

DraykeFields good points. But I think what makes ym more expensive is the metal and not so much the maxi dial. But as you say, given that buyers still prefer sub, ym is secondary market is still cheaper than sub. Many thanks for watching

It’s normal - it’s like when you have a stainless steel bezel which would be worse .. think about AP or Patek Philippe… with platinum you don’t lose metal so you are ok

there is no way my hulk is worse than this ... but i would buy it just because. after i get a two tone date just 41 with diamonds and black dial. but these watchs are not everyday watches ... the hulk and the date just 41 blue dial smooth bezel are daily

Not really the point about deep sea diving... If you review any water restistant recommendations you'd know that 300m is recommended for any type of regular diving. Lots of information about this topic. Cheers

The ym looks good . But that bezel is so soft it gets so badly scratched and gets black stains on it. It looks disgusting. Why would you pay for a platinum copy of the sub? Sub is so much more versatile and durable

Not a big fan of the YachtMaster. I think it wears too small for me despite having a 40mm size which is the same as the Submariner. Good video though.

Eric CPOP I agree. I personally like bigger watches so it’s on the smalller size for me too. But the smaller wear is a BIG relief for many I know :) Many thanks.

If you damaged that platinum bezel I’d like to know what a replacement would cost. Plus way too much highly polished steel for my liking on bracelet and case, scratches would accumulate and bother me. Apart from that not a bad piece if you’re into bling. I have a Sub and considered this piece as I found one refused an in an AD window for a day or two. I also passed. Not sure about that blue either. If I had ten Rolexes I’d probably add it to the list as an occasional wearer.

Michael To satisfy your curiosity I own two Rolexes, a Sub Date and a Datejust 41. Amongst others. But I wouldn’t consider myself a serious collector of watches. Some designs are not my thing but Rolex watches are amazing overall and value for money. Best.
