The experience that this England squad would of gained from being in a final in the last euros "although we lost" shouldn't be underestimated!! I think you might be missing the "win the game on penalties game plan" Saka got the game to 1-1 then there was no intention to score again but they did everything to stop the swiss scoring again. Kane cant start again, Watkins on with Tony or all 3 strikers in a 3-4-3 with wingers tracking back out of possession.

I think at this stage it's more about the result than the performance. You can ask for better performances in the group stages and even the last 16 but quarter finals and after the result is all that matters. We saw that with France yesterday too. The two best teams on paper in this tournement have basically scammed their way to the semis, but I suppose that's what the best teams do. Even when they don't play well, they find a way. We've definitely had luck on our side with the way the competion has gone. Netherlands will be the first top team we come up against in the semis, whereas France have already played Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal before they play Spain.

I think the reason you both feel conflicted is because you're not plucky underdogs. But you're playing like ones. It's like winning a car race in a Ferrari whilst your opponents are in Mondeo's. But ultimately knowing they've had better much drives than you because they kept up with you and were even ahead for much of the race. If anyone half competent was driving your car they'd have left the field for dead. So victory is hollow.

Konsa was excellent Kane bloody awful again Saka and Bellingham was good 1st half and very good goal for Saka but average for the rest of the game.... England as a whole....decent 1st half but back to normal from 2nd. Typical Southgate didn't make a sub until 76 mins and behind, waiting until were behind to make a change is terrible.... Kane is shocking and playing him holds England back, drop him and play Watkins or Toney. Toney's penalty was just outrageous. I have no idea , i just know they won the tournament against the germans in the final. I do think there potential similarities. The top goal scorer (Greaves) is left out and his replacement makes himself a national hero. Konsa has been flawless for us all last season. We know how good he is. As for England, I've no affiliation but if you were playing great, or even decent I'd be right behind you. But it would be a travesty to reward Southgate with an international trophy based on his performance. He's a complete chancer, he's not nailed down any tactics or style.
