Every time I see a RR like this it reminds me of the movie Arthur.
@larrykavanagh5197Ай бұрын
The water is flowing out through the header/expansion tank overflow hose because the header tank cap is opened. There's an orifice in the header tank cap housing and a bypass pipe through the header tank to the overflow hose. When the cap is on there should be no further overflow. It's possible that the pressure relief valve will work OK once the cap in screwed back in place.

The RR’s look awesome Bob !! And the rest looks amazing 😎👍🏻🇺🇸🦅🇬🇧

A very complimentary & sympathetic restoration. Looks great, and is now truly sorted. Be sure to include the Grey Poupon when you sell it. 🧐

When it comes to the nice older leather lard works well, rub it in a few times letting it sit between applications. Mink oil works awesome applying the same way. Hope that will be helpful. Thanks

Bob you keep using the word Infamous wrong!!! 🤣, In that context the car would have a bad reputation in Dallas.

GREAT job, Bob, the seat resto is fantastic! I think black is the easiest to repair. I've used the Clydes colour balm on the light beige seats of my Lexus IS..and I can tell you it was HARD work. All the leather is perforated so you have to go back with a tooth pick and poke all the holes clear of the balm the gets stuck in..and being a lighter colour it came up pretty good, but it's not like reparing a black which you can really get looking new.

I have a 1976 Rolls Royce Sliver Shadow and I would like to freshen up my door panels and seats as well but I've been told that re-painting the leather will clog up the pours so oils, moisturizers and conditioners won't be able to penetrate the leather keeping it soft and pliable resulting in the seats getting hard and cracked. Have you ever heard this?
@cardinaloflannagancr8929Ай бұрын
It sounds like somewhat of a blanket statement, covering any and all paints dyes or anything re-coloring the leather. If coloring the leather in any manner while restoring it prevented conditioners from working then how was it possible to condition it when dyed by the factory?
@stevepenАй бұрын

Leave everything Original!
@alancrisp1582Ай бұрын
Sometimes you can improve on the original with out destroying its ability to still be a classic usable Rolls_Royce. The key 🗝 word here is to make it usable for purpose !...

Lacquer thinner will clean and make the dye adhere dramatically better than alcohol! I really like Dupli-color dye, but the liquid dye from Leatherique or Color-Plus is more durable and can be ordered in "flat" with no sheen! You did a great job with the seats/wood! Not optimistic in you getting $25K (even though you have invested alot)! Good luck!

@mydogpeaches1Ай бұрын
both of these cars will look fantastic once you’re done im personally on the side of leaving the wood as it is, just refresh it because i have always looked at the woodwork as the sole of a rolls-Royce have you considered a tinted clear, i don’t know if this is possible or how it would come out looking but it would allow you to go darker but retain the beauty of the wood i was going to suggest a stain but you mentioned and showed that it was done already i really suggest tinting the clear i know it does amazing things with paint jobs on cars anyway as far as the seats go i have always loved a black leather interior it looks really good and it’s so much easier to keep clean but i do like that two tone its nice

9:34 Not necessarily - life ain't always about making money Bob - you know that. Sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do and if that includes makin' it right and it makes you happy then so be it.
@peterjones1354Ай бұрын
Why not paint the black panels in the seat beige to make it the same, it would look better.
@kingofgogasАй бұрын
does it smell like new car leather?

Typically the overflow is just a "spill over" when the water gets to the top of the radiator. As long as you keep running water to the top, it will continue to overflow. IMHO
@scottsmith6846Ай бұрын
Hey Bob thank you for the video all the cars are nice but I have a good question for you if you were only allowed to keep one of your vehicles which vehicle is your most favorite to keep if you had no other choice

You want to drive 'em crazy? Do what Derrick did at vice grip garage with his Jeep. Sand down the car a smidge. Get a couple cans of black spray paint. And a couple cans of spray poly urathane.. That will drive the "purists" crazy. OK I know you won't do it, but if you even mention it you will give 'em a heart attack

Bob I love your videos especially your enthusiasm for Rolls Royce, the colour of the refreshed woodwork looks fantastic👍 don’t take any notice of those whingers saying you do stuff on the cheap, they need to realise that some enthusiasts like yourself actually enjoy working on their own classic cars. I’ve got a 1992 RollsRoyce silver spirit 11 and I love working on mine.

Your steady bitching about this car, why don’t you spend the coin on a quickie Earl Schieb paint job so it looks halfway decent, finish the detail and sell the damn thing. That’s what’s holding this car back. I mean I’ve never seen it in person but even on the big screen it looks like poop.
