Hi Rob, thanks a lot for the Wiki link! I had checked that myself when I recorded the romance. I would agree that it definitely later than the Sor period. The voicing shows an late romantic Andalusian approach - slightly aficionado style. Most interpretations underestimate the romantic beauty of this chain of pearls. Cheers from Cologne Wulfin.
@RobMacKillop12 жыл бұрын
@@WulfinLieske Yes, definitely mid to late Romantic era, post-Sor. A lot of professionals are embarrassed to play it, so I'm pleased you have deemed it worthy of recording. Best wishes to you from Edinburgh. Rob

I hope you can read this. I grew up with my father playing guitar. He is very talented and he always plays this piece before he plays other music with his guitar. I miss him so much. He passed away 6 years ago. Whenever I hear this, it always reminds me of my childhood with my dad. Today, I am learning classical guitar and this is my favorite piece of all time. It feels like a part of my father will always be with me as long as I hear this music. Thank you. You played very wonderfully.

Very Nice Rob- what is the scale length of this guitar? I made a 620mm scale (with a 3/4 scale smaller body) and it sounds nice.

Hi Beau. 650 - I thought it was shorter, as it's very easy to play. However, the distance between the 1st and 6th strings is only 48mm, which is too narrow for me, but perfect for normal and smaller-sized hands.

Seriously, don't try to play fast. It will come eventually. Try instead to work on phrasing. Try singing the melody. I bet you can't do it all in one breath! Therefore you need to breathe. Music needs to breathe too. That's what I concentrate on. Sing everything you play, and try to let the music take breaths where you want to take a breath. That's far more important than speed.
