Hi Rob, thanks a lot for the Wiki link! I had checked that myself when I recorded the romance. I would agree that it definitely later than the Sor period. The voicing shows an late romantic Andalusian approach - slightly aficionado style. Most interpretations underestimate the romantic beauty of this chain of pearls. Cheers from Cologne Wulfin.

@@WulfinLieske Yes, definitely mid to late Romantic era, post-Sor. A lot of professionals are embarrassed to play it, so I'm pleased you have deemed it worthy of recording. Best wishes to you from Edinburgh. Rob

I hope you can read this. I grew up with my father playing guitar. He is very talented and he always plays this piece before he plays other music with his guitar. I miss him so much. He passed away 6 years ago. Whenever I hear this, it always reminds me of my childhood with my dad. Today, I am learning classical guitar and this is my favorite piece of all time. It feels like a part of my father will always be with me as long as I hear this music. Thank you. You played very wonderfully.

Seriously, don't try to play fast. It will come eventually. Try instead to work on phrasing. Try singing the melody. I bet you can't do it all in one breath! Therefore you need to breathe. Music needs to breathe too. That's what I concentrate on. Sing everything you play, and try to let the music take breaths where you want to take a breath. That's far more important than speed. Best wishes for your studies!
