If going to the ground you must maintain control through the ground. If you look he not only loses control of the ball he loses the ball completely. The rule was changed a few years ago. The old rule the ball cant touch the ground at at all. Now it can touch the ground as long as players has control of the ball. The key here is he never completed the catch. He jumped up in the end zone to get ball. On his way down he was naturally going to the ground so he has to either have both feet down then a football move. 2 steps with control. He did not. Or control ball through the ground. Which he also did not. That once the ball is in endzone only applies when the catch is complete or it’s run into the endzone. Some of you guys need to learn football.

The play clock was getting close to :00 (which would be a delay of game on Green Bay) but then the refs reset it to :25 (which they tend to do if there are “administrative delays.”) Bill didn’t like it because it gave Green Bay more time to think about it and a delay of game in that moment would’ve kept Green Bay from challenging (also -5 yards). It didn’t matter though because the challenge failed.

@@thekingbradable Lmao im not a packers fan but it sure looks like a catch. From the NFL, "a. secures control of the ball in his hands or arms prior to the ball touching the ground; and b. touches the ground inbounds with both feet or with any part of his body other than his hands; and c. after (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, performs any act common to the game (e.g., tuck the ball away, extend it forward, take an additional step, turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent), or he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so." If you pause it when his right elbow goes down, the ball is definitely tucked. I dont see how that wouldn't be considered a football move. If a player, who satisfied (a) and (b), but has not satisfied (c), contacts the ground and loses control of the ball, it is an incomplete pass if the ball hits the ground before he regains control, or if he regains control out of bounds. He completed a, b, and c so how is it not a touchdown?

By NFL's rulebook and definition of a catch, Doubs satisfied all 3 components of the rule. A player who makes a catch may advance the ball. A forward pass is complete (by the offense) or intercepted (by the defense) in the field of play, at the sideline, or in the end zone if a player, who is inbounds: a. secures control of the ball in his hands or arms prior to the ball touching the ground; and b. touches the ground inbounds with both feet or with any part of his body other than his hands; and c. after (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, performs any act common to the game (e.g., tuck the ball away, extend it forward, take an additional step, turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent), or he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so.
