Dennis, you are truly the sonic prophet! When I first entered recording school, I didn't know crap about acoustics - only that I wanted to have a nice room in which I could record/produce some great works. I learned a lot in college - and everything you present on this topic reinforces what I've learned. To that end, when I first began building my modest "producer studio", I incorporated everything my education afforded me. What I have now is a near-perfect room. It's great to find that your expertise matches everything I've done! If I ever should decide to quit recording and go into acoustic analytics, please, do take my call! I love it!

Thank you. I too, had a similar experience which was part of the impetus for our products. When building rooms for my real estate company, I bought products that were in the marketplace that were advertised as sound absorbing and noise stopping. Only 10% of the sound absorbing ever worked as advertised. None of the wall hanging panels worked for noise transmission. Ironically, some of those products are still being sold. It was definately time for new technology, especially with a whole team of people to build and test. Thanks for sharing.

Nothing that can create spurious reflections are desired. As the resolution of your room increases, you will start to hear anything that gets in the way of your signal management.

The ultimate resolution is our goal. Our room resolution must at least equal gear resolution.

When you treat just the room modal issues, you won't believe the difference less modal pressure produces in resolution alone. When you then treat reflections, you add another 300% in resolution. A great sounding room is no accident.
