Finally a version of Romeo and Juliet that I might actually be able to watch

This actually looks promising.

This does look funny. I did always think Shaekspear was trying to make a point. Romeo just DOES this. He is a dirpy little boy, Juliette is very naive, and their families were so busy feuding they didn't take care of them properly and missed the big picture. However, I think I would prefer it if they went the rout of Rosaline won't give him the time of day, and get's caught up in their story for other reasons, because that matches better with the play.

This looks really like a really fun and refreshing take. But I really can't help but remember that the original play made it very clear that Rosaline never cared about Romeo at all. In Romeo's first scene, he's literally moaning to Mercutio and Benvolio about how Rosaline doesn't even spare him a second glance - that's the whole reason Romeo even goes to the ball where he meets Juliet - because his friends wanted him to get over his unrequited feelings for Rosaline.
