I always had full choke shotguns growing up. 410, 20, and 12 were all full chokes. The range was good but the downside was even the 20 gauge was to destructive for squirrel hunts. The 12...forget it lol 😂. So the 410 full choke was my go to for squirrel hunts. Had to aim sharp almost like a rifle but it would reach way up in big timber tops and knock them squirrels down without tearing them 👍

I grew up hunting with my nef 410 and the heaviness helps with recoil but my kids were 9 before the could hold it up steady

It might be worth shooting these at a larger paper target. You may have a denser pattern you could identify and then add a red dot to compensate for the point of impact.

I'm thinking about getting a Hatfield single shot .20 gauge with a fixed modified choke for deer hunting. Just wondering what the difference is between full vs. fixed modified. I'm new to shotguns.
