Rotary Engine Parts! What are you supposed to call these things anyway. Side housing or side plate?

2 ай бұрынThis is meant to be lighthearted but also pointing out that the cast iron side can be referred to in many ways. It's the combination of side housings and the rotors housing that make a combustion chamber. Call it what you want. its ok with me...

Hey Kyle long time no chat! My engine you built is still running great. For what to call the parts, I use and will continue to refer to them as: Front rotor housing, rear rotor housing, front iron, center iron, rear iron. No confusion there! :)

Great content Kyle👍 For what it's worth I spent my first year of my apprenticeship at Mazda Motors Melbourne Australia in House Factory Training Program and they were called Rotor Housings & Side Housings back in 1981

Yep. Mazda USA said side housings... I thought it was funny. I've had multiple comments saying their plates and I am wrong, so had to put my two cents in. 👍
