My personal favorite is Noodler's Eel Black. It is among the blackest Noodler's inks, much more aesthetically pleasing than Noodler's Bulletproof Black, while being is just as impervious to everything as the Bulletproof, although the Eel has a slightly longer drying time. It retails at around 3 fl oz for 13 USD (I apologize to Australians for my USA backwardness. I prefer metric too).

I use the Platinum Carbon black all the time and I love it.

Also R&K Sketchink - it's cheaper than Dokument and dries faster than Carbon Black,. Not a fan of Platinum Carbon Black as it's expensive and deies slower and shades to a horrible brown in washes! Dokument is the blackest, as well. Cheapest is Hero 234 Ink, it's carbon ink and never had a major clog.

@@MichaelRozie it doesn't dry as quick, yes. but at least Dokumentus is black, like Rotring ink. Many FP inks aren't that black, Carbon 'Black' is one of those.

Yes I think the ink feed in a rollerball pen is a bit more forgiving compared to a fountain pen.

You can use it with dip pens. Rotring ink is really just glorified, somewhat overpriced India ink. The French label literally says "Chinese ink," which is a more appropriate name for "India" ink.

FP ink will work in tech pens at least for me Good luck trying to get glitter ink out 😁 took me a while in the sonic clearer

Keep your fountain pen as it is and put 'Platinum Carbon ink black' ink in it. It's one of the few pigmented water proof inks that can be used in a fountain pen, with a bit of extra maintenance. Its just that the fundamental design of a fountain pen nib, having a capillary feed, means that it hates pigmented inks. The Platinum one only works because they managed to make the particles really small i believe.

If you mean the Sukura pigma microns then yes. I can't imagine it wouldn't work as I've put thick Sumi ink in a fine-finer before and it worked.

The Rotring ink is very water resistant, dries quickly too. Just don't put it in a fountain pen. If you want a water resistant ink that can go in a fountain pen try Platinum Carbon Black ink

In my experience the pentel pocket brush pen comes with disposable ink cartridges ( FP10 is the model number ). I guess you could refill a disposable ink cartridge with rotring ink by using a syringe and it might be fine. But I don't see a reason for it when the cost of the brush pen refills are only sightly more per ml of ink compared to the rotring ink. According to the prices I've seen online anyway. Results may vary :) (I've measured a pentel pocket brush pen refill and they seem to contain about 3cm^3 of ink. )

Yes you can. I just added a bit of sylicon grease to seal the body of the pen and filled the body itself instead of using the cartridge, haven't had any kind of problems with it

@@daikaiser9394 Same, FP carbon ink and rotring ink work well in Kuretake and Pentel brush pens.
