If you aren't familiar with my Rise Bale AU, a quick synopsis!
The Gang got together around 20 years old, a year after the invasion. (There is a fanfiction for this on Ao3 Titled: 'What Else Do You Have Recorded?') This particular date night is after they've gotten married but before they became parents! So somewhere between 25-30 years old.

He was prepared for this as a possibility, from early research he did (a highschool marine bio textbook he found in the trash) early on when they were tots. Turtles are promiscuous, meaning they take multiple mates in a season, and while they group in bales, they don’t have family structures to recognize blood relatives. So turtle/human hybrids were going to have an unpredictable mix of the different species instincts. He knew it *might* happen, so he just gave them all a talk about treating each other well and approved.

Nah I also took a minute to warm up on it, you just gotta think about the story potential and reassess what we know of canon. The tension of Casey having an unrealistic crush on his teacher, suddenly faced with a younger version of him on even ground. The almost bitter ideation Leo would have for this amazing attractive dude who dropped into their lives fixed his mess and knows more about him than he does. Indelibly drawn together, so much admiration from both sides, but complicated and muddled by circumstance. Yet they fit so well.

So. Child. I need you to understand something. This kind of comment isn’t appropriate or helpful or necessary, and I think you know that. You don’t get immunity for being unkind because you couch it in “Before you lash out at me” or “You’re talented BUT” then go on to be mean What other people ship in fiction is not your concern, how others pursue art is not your concern. I’m not “wasting my talent” my talent was honed and invigorated by tcest because I was inspired. Because it brings me joy. You don’t have to like tcest! Or anything else that makes you feel icky. But that feeling you’re getting? It’s a reactionary response. Good for finding out what you like and don’t like! Bad for judging other people. That’s how people become prejudice. By being reactionary. Think to yourself “Is this person hurting me? Or anyone?” If the answer is No, then you move on. You find something that brings *you* joy and leave them to theirs. There are some lovely AprilCass fics on Ao3 go read them and leave me alone.

@@CherryTreatsArt just saying for the “is this person hurting me or anyone” comment; as a heavy fictive system with the turtles AND casey jr in my headspace, they would be hurt. so would other people that are systems with fictives- i wasnt even trying to come off as rude or anything, i was just stating my opinion- your art is really good, but its a huge waste of talent.. also im not shaming/judging you for what you like; you do you man!! i was just pointing out that people have their own opinions on this topic in the TMNT fanbase and this side of it.
