Route 45 - Ironbridge to Bridgnorth - Video Guide -National Cycle Network

This video documents the ride and points of interest along the national cycle network route 45 from Ironbridge to Bridgnorth. we start at Ironbridge, Telford and follow the old Severn valley Railway through Jackfield, Coalport and Linley. We also take a look at the old Bridgnorth railway tunnel. A beautiful ride through Shropshire.

I watched this twice...some great views on the route 45 and trails....will definatly cycle this route...in the summer will check out your other vids for routes nice work

Really enjoyed watching this as I'm planning on doing the same route later this year with a group of mates as a memorial ride for a fallen friend. I will be doing a recce ride to assess abilities, but it looks suitable for all. Nice job, thank you. 😊

I use google maps, Garmin route planner and the Sustrans National cycle network map when planning a route like this.

Hi ya..... I'm based in Telford and I am always confused on whether or not this route is shut during shooting season or not? The sign an the Woodbridge end doesnt help matters either. The section through Apley Estate I'm referring too.

I’m not 100% sure when they close this section, I don’t think they shoot down this section as it has quite a few homes on the stretch but I may be wrong. I have seen it closed a couple of times but always see people ignoring the signs and going through. Thanks for watching!

I've done a little investigation through Shropshire Rights of Way Officer. It's no longer a through right of way... Shropshire Council lost the right for cyclists to use it through the Apley Estate section around 3 years ago and as of yet haven't been able to get it sorted since. This why the sign says "Closed find an alternative route". Basically I've been told that using it can be classed as trespass 🤷

Thanks for that. Other than that I really enjoyed the video, the history content was great, directions etc very useful and I now want to cycle this route, its not that far from where I live. Please make more like this !

no, cyclepaths should not be replaced rail lines. Cycle paths are open to all, just look how ridiculously expensive the B'north heritage railway is....
