Why have a dog if they are left in a yard? Dogs are social animals and should be part of the family. She's being so good. That has to feel so much better. ❤❤ Thanks for helping her. ❤❤

Thank you so so SO much for helping this dog and so many others!! It's absolutely HORRIBLE that this poor girl was left like this. And to be left outside 24/7 on top of that? That's NOT okay; most breeds of dog can freeze to DEATH if left outside overnight! The owner is absolutely horrible, letting their dog get to such a deplorable condition!! I understand that the pandemic has been very hard on people, but that is NO excuse for letting this dog get THIS bad!! Call a parent, call a sibling or friend, hell even a neighbor and ASK FOR HELP!! If you can't get your pet to a groomer, ask someone to bring them for you, or contact a mobile groomer! My aunt has mobility problems, the worst mental health struggles I have EVER seen, she cannot drive, and the pandemic has also been very hard on her, but she still has NEVER let her cat get anywhere near as bad as this dog. The pandemic and mental health struggles are NO EXCUSE to let a pet get to THIS condition!! Once again, thank you so so SO much Mary Beth for all that you do!!

Your knowledge really helps these dogs cope. Their sweet nature breaks my heart. When I find a small mat on my dog, I feel awful. To live day in, day out with matting tugging and stopping fresh air movement on their skin. Poor dogs.

Heartbreaking to know dogs are left to get in such a state. I panic if im a day or so late to the groomers and we go every 6-8 weeks. You being so calm with them must put them at ease and they know they are safe. so sad to see such a lovely dog in such a sorry state.

I could hear your heart break during this one. You were so wonderful with her. She's the kind of dog who should sleep inside. All my dogs sleep inside to protect them from wildlife. During the day I keep an eye on them to make sure they don't have a snake attack. I hope the owner brings her back sooner so you can maintain her. She looked so much happier in the end.

It’s awful she is such a sweet dog and they don’t deserve her. What you did for that sweet baby girl was such a sweet and kind thing. I cried this whole video cause she looks like my dog, minus the hair shit, and I just can’t imagine leaving her outside. The sad thing is she’s waiting on them like a faithful girl. She’s going to be so cold outside and there’s nothing you can do cause you had to shave it off. Poor baby.

Oh dear, that matted fur must have pulled very painfully! Poor little girl, and thank you so much for caring for her so nicely. Clearly the people who own the outdoor space where she has to live are emotionally impoverished and possibly intellectually challenged. They should give the dogs to someone who is better equipped to give them a good life.

We have a farm our 2 dogs stay outside sleep in barn. They Guard the farm animals and go to Vet annually, get bathed every month. They are happy and healthy not an issue staying outside!

@@scarter8137 Largely depends on the breed and climate you live in, too. And I imagine you're still interacting and working with your dogs regularly, and they're being socialized and stimulated mentally and physically. They aren't just tied to a tree all day.

@@KerrieBerrie - Valid point Kerrie! They have 30 acres to roam, a pond and barn. My husband installed a dog doorbell for emergencies and trained our lab mix to use. He mostly rings when he wants treats 🤣 but did make us aware of a small fire after a lightning strike once.

I just fostered a shih tzu, im not a professional groomer and let me tell you the first time i groomed him was a NIGHTMARE! but with each groom, hes learned to trust me and even falls asleep! Its not that i cant afford it, i just love bonding with him! I bathe him, groom him, cut his nails and clean his ears and brush his teeth! Its so sad to see poor babies in this shape, theres literally no excuse AT ALL!

I trim my own shih tzu due to his attitude. It is not great if he nips at me but better than someone else that may get angry at him. He is now 14, blind and deaf. I am now his support animal😊

I will never understand how some dog owners, can let their dogs, get into such a state. Poor dog, dog is so calm, so they could easily have groomed the dog daily.

What makes you decide to use the Dremel as opposed to nail nippers on a dog? Is it dog size and small dogs get better quick results using the Dremel Do newly naked dogs get sweaters or t-shirts depending on whether they are shelter grooms? This was a good job. Bailey looks good naked. You do good work.

It is sad that they won't help thr animals just because they are getting a free groom if you own an animal you need to expect to bath it and brush its hair how would you like it if you couldn't bath or brush your own hair for four years. Shakes her head. Thank you for doing the free grooms

Thank you for caring for these sweet babies. I will never understand how people can neglect their animals. Atleast she felt the luv frm u. I don't understand why animal control won't step up and do what's right for the animals,thts what they are supposed to do. I'm sorry tht they won't help the animals. It's jst not right. I have never had an outside dog. If it’s cold for me to be out in winter gear then it’s too cold for my dogs. The same applies to summer weather. It broke my heart to see how she looked and to hear she was left outside 24/7.I personally think owners should experience the way they treat their dogs. Maybe if they froze their asses off all winter being outside in the freezing cold all day and night they’d learn the meaning of cruelty. People like this should never be allowed to have a dog or any other animal either.

I understand, that this dog needed to be shaved down, but when the owner keep him outside all the time, eve in cold seasons, then he will freeze and l hope the owner will either let him inside or give him an extra coat.

Well they won't get charged for cruelty if nobody reports them because of the fact that they stand to benefit and get a paycheck from making videos that prey on people's sympathy.

Right. Because they see it as “doing something to fix it” um last time I checked-getting a dog groomed once way overdo doesn’t erase the neglect that’s happening around the groom or will be going back into. That should at very least do an automatic wellness check on the home…..that will give them a better perspective of the situation.

I hope that you are an animal control officer in the same state and town as the groomer, so that you aren't just saying that. :) I used to work at a shelter in a different state, and we constantly got the dogs from the very people we reported for cruelty, and every year they brought in more dogs because animal control never stepped in. They'd been doing it for years by the time I was made a paid employee. Other cases of abuse had been doing the same kinds of stuff for years too. Animal control said the dogs weren't badly abused enough or they'd made enough effort, always had excuses and the law allows lots of excuses before it's bad enough to step in. So unless you know for a fact, by working in the same state and town, and your job is the animal control officer that handles these reports, again same town and state as the groomer, and know that she's lying, and unless you have proof, it's an awful thing to say that she's a liar on this subject. Unless you work (not volunteer, work) for animal control, shelters handling this stuff, you are the actual vet handling these cases and also reporting, or are a groomer working these cases (many groomers won't,). She has nothing to gain by lying. And unless you're handling the calls and paperwork for the shelters, vets, groomers, and animal control, (which means not a volunteer) then you have no idea how hard it can really be to have animals removed. And accusations without any proof are just ridiculous.
