@@numbnutz7832 I am a long suffering oldham fan seen videos of Edwards and best they were brilliant players ,but I watched Eric Cantona make his debut for leeds at boundary park many years ago .then I remember the French wizard coming back with man utd on a boxing day clash with oldham in the Premier league.man utd hit us on the break every time ended up oldham 2 manutd 6 Cantona gigs kanchelsces Scholes and Keane and Hughes what a team but Cantona was something special and man utd will never see a player like him.

Thing is a lot of so called leaders and great characters aren’t really with lesser winning teams…once that winning momentum is gone you need to wait a long time for a new cycle if your lucky…and at that point you need a winning mentality manager Prob for its is was their post Fergie winner managers players hated that style and so did fans Then pep and Klopp made everyone hate anything less than hardcore entertainment

Lol...Roy just about avoids saying we didn't need a manager....lol well that 'manager' brought all those 'great lads' in and built team after team. Incredible what Alex did for United...he's a bit like United itself 'Hated, Adored but never Ignored'. Him and all the players made all our dreams come true and so, so much more. There's still that bitterness there regarding Fergie and the way it all ended. It's sad in a way because out of all the players Fergie signed at United, the one probably the closest in character to him was Roy. Like Fergie, Roy doesn't dress things up and he can be quite blunt at times. He tells people what needs to be said. That's not a criticism of Roy or Alex because you need to be like that if you're going to build something special and make sure all the parts stay in place and do what you want them to. There's no time for tea and fairy cakes and a pleasant chat. And when it's like that you can't please everyone, but people with character will respond to those with character and you end up building stronger players or getting rid of those that show weakness or in this day an age are 'easily offended'. I thought Roy would eventually see that Fergie probably took him on because he saw himself in him, but he still seems to think it was personal from Fergie.I don't think it ever was, just that blunt way he did things.
