I was once delivering something to Dunc's house, I had an old Everton top on and honestly hadn't realised that Mr. Ferguson was THE Mr. Ferguson. I was totally gobsmacked, Dunc made me and my mate a brew, he said my old top was *****ed, he disappeared and came back with a brand new one. He signed it and I still have it. LEGEND!

Ferguson would give people the odd dig now and then. But Keane was a leg breaker. He ended several careers. Whereas big Dunc, didn't. He just wouldn't take shit off anyone. I love Big Dunc and still remember his last game for us against the Baggies when he scored a penalty (poorly!). Whilst he was underrated in his abilities with his feet (most of his iconic goals for us were headers), and his injuries were completely mismanaged by the club - cortisone injections with back problems because we had such a paper thin squad we couldn’t be without him. Unfortunately for me he will never qualify as a legend for me, as too many times, when we needed him, the red mist descended and he was suspended for crucial games. I’m glad he’s now at the club as a coach as he can impart true passion and what it means to be a Blue to our players, without causing too much trouble!! Re Keane - Ferguson would wig him all over the place. Skilled player, but a snidey b@stard. At least if Dunc was annoyed by you he’d just punch you in the gut!! 😂

Keane's legs were massive because he worked so hard, he was a tank and a steamroller all in one and would leave the lanky Scott for dead.. Keane covered so much ground almost every blade of grass and he dragged MU over the finish line more often than not.. Dunc was never as fit or as hard as keane who was old school.. But having said that, Keane should of been banned for life for the leg break but I'd back Keane all the way for stamina and grit.. Without Keane MU wouldn't of won half as much.. What did Dunc ever win and did he cover every blade of grass? Give him a shovel and he'd pass out at the sight of it.

The game doesn't need out of control lunatics like Ferguson. Players like Keane and Viera were passionate and played hard when they needed to, but they were also gifted footballers. Ferguson was a stampeding bull with no brains or skill.

The was 2 attempted burglary’s at Duncan Fergusons home, both times he battered the intruders, both times were multiple people breaking in. On one he even broke one’s jaw and held the other down until police arrived and Duncan was arrested for assault by the police charges were later dropped. I lived around the corner from Duncan Ferguson for years always saw him with his kids absolutely lovely man to talk to as long as you respected him

The best two clips you dint have for Big Dunc, one were Zendan challenged Dunc and the next thing he had the whole Midelsborough team including Zendan in their own goal net. Another one was in the Europa League, cant remember the opposition but one of their player assaulted Mikel Arteta knocking him unconscious and Big Dunc went after him and Decked him. You also missed the clip against Wigan were he punched that Austrian defender.

Look at the way Duncan is revered at Everton regarded as a legend. Every time he put on a blue shirt he wanted to win ,players now just play for the wonga, he played for pride. Whilst Keane and Viera could put it about on the pitch physically they were both first and foremost excellent footballers with great passing and goal scoring ability. Big Dunc also put it about on the pitch, but he wasn't in the same league when it came to actually using the ball.

Ferguson was an old fashioned centre forward. He didn't take no s**t from nobody. He imposed himself on central defenders from the first minute. A lot of things that went on in the 60's, 70's and 80's would be 6 match bans these days. I'm sick of all these prima donnas who go down at the slightest touch. It's a contact sport. Two great examples of hard players. I saw a celtic player fall forwards after he'd been pulled back. Pathetic.

WaketheTown Keene was surrounded by better quality players because he himself was a player of that quality. Water always finds its level and Ferguson’s level was far below that of Keanes. One player was a world class combative midfielder, the other wasn’t.

He was known as a defensive midfielder, but could pass into the forwards feet better than most and the timing of his runs was superb. Would pop up in the box out of nowhere and could finish too. Watch that semi final away at Juventus in 1999 and tell me a game where Duncan played at that level.

The difference between the two is that Dunc was very physical, but Keane was a dirty sod. Dunc would bully players and Keane ended careers. Doesn't make Keane a tough guy, it makes him a coward.

Ferguson was also a very good player, with a very good footballing brain. Brilliant with his back to goal and far too strong for defenders. Unfortunatly he spent most of his career either suspended or unfit, he was nearly always carrying a knock of some sort. When he was fit he was often unplayable. Keane as you say was indeed a good player but so was Ferguson.
