There is a background krinkly sound I don't like at the start of the video. But I am really glad you included a link to the original story. So many Reddit reading channels don't do that and I really appreciate it.

Thank you fro letting me know about the sound I'll make sure it doesn't happen again. And of course they are not my story's so I would feel bed not including the originals.

Craziest ideas huh? Um well, - an earth genasi that resembles and opal and, as a baby, a copper dragon mistakes the infant as a large gemstone until they realize it’s a child and freak out before deciding to raise it. - another earth genasi but in a homebrew world. This one is a swarmkeeper ranger who’s swarm are flavored as souls of the dead who can’t move on. My genasi was originally a statue in a forgotten temple to death which was brought o life by these fractured souls that gathered there. The genasi is now the guardian of these souls and does their best to try to assist them into moving on. More recently they made a contract with the god of death and have a few grave cleric levels. - for a one shot I made a harengon drakewarden where the harengon was all spotted and the drake’s looks were reminiscent of a dragon fruit. - most recently I made an aasimar moon druid who is the child from a woman in a druid circle of swanmay (the dm adapted them to 5e). I mean I got endless more but I usually try to tailor each character to their campaign so they are rather imbedded to that world and that table.

Those all sound amazing and I especially love the statue that came to life that is such a cool idea I love it !

@@pandachantheking yeah the context for that one was that it was a homebrew world and the dm hadn’t yet decided how genasi fit into it. I offered the statue idea up as a solution since we had already decided my character would be found in this temple and it felt like it made sense that so many souls would be able to animate one of the statues and that said statue would feel compelled to be the guardian. The fun thing I love is that this character resembles white jade lol. Honestly the party really needed a character with strong spiritualism so I made this character for it. They still act like the party mom at times but I try to take a back seat now that the party have learned to play in ways that isn’t just murderhobo style. My character was meant to be an example of other ways to create characters and play. It’s a learning table with most, other than myself and the DM’s older brother, being teens. We adults are only there for guidance reasons and to help the dm with arbitration when player conflicts come up. After all, not fair to make a teen deal with that. It’s a good and steady group now though.

@@mentalrebllion1270 that is so cool and such a fun way to explain genasis for a homebrew world... i actualy want to play an air genasi so i might take a leaf from your book and think outside the box on how she came into existance.

And this is why I take Draconic as a language almost every time. Let's me talk to kobolds and dragons. Two things it might be a good idea to negotiate with.

I played in a 5e one-shot with a few friends and my sister. I don't get to play often (I'm the forever DM), so it was a fun chance to come up with something crazy. My sister and I played half-elf twins. She was a paladin and I was a rogue. My character claimed he had been abducted by the fey as a child and would see them everywhere as an adult. On a boat? There's a nereid in the water. Hiking in the forest? Dryad's trying to steal his trail rations. The final boss for that one-shot was a hydra and he was convinced it was sent by a coven of hags to take him back (it wasn't). He also had a flask he'd drink out of frequently. Not alcohol, though. That stuff's too weak for him. It was this awful mixture of apple cider vinegar and spicy spices like cayenne pepper and cinnamon. My half-elf was accustomed to it, but anyone else who wanted a swig had to make a CON save or lose their lunch 😂

That is so funny omg! Being paranoid about the fay is a completely rational thing. I love it 💜 The fact that the last time my sister and I played twins in a game we were also a Paladin and a rouge is also kind of funny.

Not so much a horror story as a really terrible idea and (hopefully) a lesson learned. How did the DM think that was going to end well? My weirdest character idea was a Rogue who was magically fused with her twin brother: Every so often she would be magically replaced by him. Clothes, equipment and such would remain and he'd have to pick up where she left off until they switched back again. Neither had any control of the switch and frequently left notes in a pocket for the newly arriving twin to keep abreast with whatever happened during their absence. The twin that wasn't in play would be sleeping in some magical void and pair were trying to find a way to break the curse so they could eventually meet face to face Mechanically it was a bit of a nightmare to run but the DM and Table were ok with the twins confused antics as they were both pretty good rogues and party members

Maybe the DM was hoping that someone in the party would pick a language that the wear Wolfe spoke and they could communicate that way ? The idea of playing siblings that change places sounds like so much fun ! Did they have a similar personality ? Did you manege to brake the curse ? Or are you still playing the game ? How did they get cursed in the first place ? It's so interesting !

@@pandachantheking Sad to say the adventure ended early due to scheduling so we never really got a resolution or found out how/why they were cursed, but it was a great ride while it lasted. Kara (the female twin) was flirty, reckless and mercurial while Kane was wary, with a tactical mind and introspective nature. As their switching was more likely to occur during times of stress a lot of their notes to each other were about "Sorting out the mess you landed me in"

Oh that's a shame it would have been super fun to hear about how the twins interacted once they were separated.
