Running with Scissors is honestly my favorite game developers, they have a history of being transparent with their audience and they have my respect.

The difference between Volition and Running with Scissors: RWS actually added more content to Postal 2 long after its launch, meanwhile the SR2 Patch is buried under dust and webs waiting for someone to do something.

What you really should mention is how they completely stripped saints row of authentic gang culture and turn it into a nerd fest. I'm tired of people sugar coating this sh*t cone of a game. What makes it worse is devs are purposely ignoring and shading valuable opinion from us OG fans. Enough is enough

It's like every time Volition does something, they do something to piss people off. The more I hear Volition news the more disappointed or upset I get. This story is hilarious, though. And I agree with RWS.

I saw a comment here mentioning Rockstar probably laughing at SR 2022, and I so wholeheartedly agree! Volition be trying to move away from the GTA-esque themes so far that Rockstar is probably wheezing to hell and back at them. I love when other game developers roasts Volition at this point. Even when I started out with SR3, even I understood it didn’t have the soul that the first games had. Honestly I didn’t even know community managers were a thing until all of this came out.

The banter between Rockstar North and Reflections goes even deeper, because before their acquisition by Take-Two, Rockstar North used to be known as DMA Design, and often tested Reflections' games when they shared the same publisher, Psygnosis.

I'm going to be honest, I have never played Postal before. I did buy a copy of 2, and played a little bit of it, but I didn't put that many hours into it. I can see why it's loved by many people. I do recommend people to play more of it since it is an awesome game. The fact that Volition has been roasted by another game dev says a lot about how they are currently right now.

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Postal 4 is far better than Saints Row Reboot, even for an early access game. At least RWS is taking the time to fix the problems Postal 4 has and still has the potential to become a better game. SRR will remain a terrible game and there's not fixing that.

light hearted banter and jabs between devs and companies are good for the industry. its important to call someone out on their flaws and mistakes, especially when you know what youre talking about. im not talking about bullying or kicking someone when theyre down, but collectively pretending like errors werent made when they clearly were is even more damaging.

SR 2022 had all the stars align for them and volition threw it away, people were really starting to get sick of R* and their scummy tactics with GTAO and constantly re-releasing GTAV, and with another GTA game being at least 2 years out they could've finally had some time not in the shadow of a GTA gam but wasted all that with....whatever these cringy college kids are meant to be

Running with scissors is a smaller studio than Volition yet they are doing better than them financially. At least they can take a joke and listen to the fans feedback.

Postal 2 is the most beloved game in the entire series Pulsar one is a really great like side-scrolling scooter I don't think it was actually called. But it kind of like the game hatred. They just set you down to map you just kill everything. The second one is the most beloved the third one was made by a different studio. And is the worst one today 8. Then they came back with a DLC for postal 2 Called Paradise Lost it is my favorite game in the entire series cuz it stand on its own as its own game. And it's great. Postal for actually I believe a lot of people enjoy it. I know some people don't but that's because it was a janky Alpha for a long time like 2 years but they finally officially released the game and is still getting constant updates and yeah they're still a few missing features and it will never truly Eclipse postal to but hey you can't really eclipse the greatest game of all time. I would definitely recommend you give them a chance they are some of the the funniest and funnest games you'll ever play

2:19 Postal 2 was hated by critics and loved by the players, postal 3 was and still is hated by everyone(even rws themselves, long story) and postal 4 IS hated by critics but the way community reacted to it is somewhat smililiar to saints row 2022, yet on a smaller scale and maybe a bit messier in terms of understanding the two sides

From what I played Postal 4 feels harmless and lacking the edge. People usually call it the Reddit edition- Also the graphic. Personal either retro ps1 like the style or what Postal Brain damage did would be better. Also a lot of feature and feedback is missing like corpse burning into crisp

As someone that speedran Postal 4 for a while Postal 4 is getting better with every new update. People that shit on Postal 4 are the same people that shit on postal 2 which is fucking funny since RWS is just taking that and make it into ads to promote their game. IGN called Postal 2 "The worst game ever" So Postal 4 is now the sequel "The worst game ever". Postal 3 is the joke of the series because of it being made by a different dev team that didn't do the series justice at all and are complete prick about it too. RWS will always make fun of that game. Postal 1 is the darkest the series will get. The original game had a different ending than the redux version. Volition doesn't hold a candle to RWS when it comes to taking punches. RWS make fun of the themself all the time. While Volition can't take the feedback about the reboot either seriously or responsibly. At the end of the day after playing both games on release and beating them both. I would rather play Postal 4 over SR Reboot any day. The Reboot story makes the game just trash. The rest of the game is just fine but that story......I don't get how that passed as a good saints row story.

Postal 4 might not be perfect (the humour is pretty weak this time around, for example), but I can at least tell, without a shadow of a doubt, that the game is not souless unlike Saints Row

The more I think about it, the more I think Volition intentionally made Saints Row '22 bad, as a huge tax write-off, or as a way to finally kill the IP they all hate so much, like what Lana Wachowski did to The Matrix 4. Honestly should have ended the series at SR3. SR4 and Gat out of Hell could've been Massive DLC's for SR The Third and no one would've had a problem with that It would've showed how the gang mellowed out over time yet still kept their edge. Would've been a 9/10 series for eveyone to enjoy, but no, they fucked it all up. Still, SR2 is atleast an A+ tier game, S tier if you push it. Only 2 other games have that high of a ranking imo, and those are RDR and RDR2 (R* should've dropped an undead nightmare dlc for 2 but they've fattened their pockets with Online)

Postal 4 has Civvie11 in it. That makes it vastly superior SR(2022) all on it's own. The entire game could have been be Civvie11 staring at you out the open door of a port-a-potty taking a really long shit while reading the entirety of the Twilight series out loud while you as the player club baby seals to death and eat fried crickets, and it would STILL have been a better game than SR(2022)

I kind of agree with Running with scissors. They were going through the same thing with postal 3 But at least running with scissors actually redeem themselves after postal 3 came out. They actually started releasing DLC for a postal 2 For a game that came out in 2003. And I can't believe that villation hasn't even released yet the fixe for saints row 2 on steam. And at least the new postal games are really good like postal 4. You could choose multiple voice actors you could choose the. Original voice actor or chose Duke nukem Voice actor. I was really excited about this Game being set in the desert / las Vegas style area . I don't think we've had an open world crime game set there. Maybe San Andreas a little bit but that was way back on ps2. There was going to be a scarface 2 game set in las Vegas but that got cancelled . Some areas actually don't look too bad . This game could of been something it's a major shame!!!! The characters were so corny. Maybe that's how the developers see people as LOL.

It's funny how both companies recently released an underwhelming sequel to a beloved series that was a buggy mess and completely divided the fanbases for a second time, but even through all of that, Postal 4 at least has heart. RWS know and cherish their community, and that seperates their bad games from Volition's bad games.

They focused way too much on being relatable to gen z and being "woke" with their humor. It was so awkward seeing my character trying to hang with these teen-like people as a gang, and my guy just came off like a creepy adult at a high school hanging with kids pretending to be "gangsta", cringey as hell. I could only start to tolerate the dynamics when I made my character british because then the dialogue became somewhat bearable.

To clarify one thing about Postal. Postal 4 is NOT shitted in the fan base of postal tho. Postal 4 is pretty OK, but very unpolished. It has 75% positive reviews on steam, that matters a lot more than metactitic score of journalists (who would even listen to them?) Postal 3 however is awful, but it was NOT made by original postal devs. It was made by foreign comapny that outsorced the game to the different studios 3-4 times, so the game has no vision, no gameplay and no style at all. Expect for the banger music - this was actually lit.

As possibly the only fan of saints row 2022 I still enjoy the twitter drama 😌 (I’m a bit younger than most players and have never played the original games so I went into the game with a clear mind, I personally found the humour funny albeit a little dated but there’s definitely worse and the characters felt decent enough, a bit like annoying little siblings)
