Background to Story: July 1981 brought a further escalation in the violence in
Lebanon. For the first time, Israeli aircraft attacked Beirut, with Palestinian
guerrilla headquarters as the main target... though many civilians died. In reply,
guerrillas subjected northern Israeli settlements to their heaviest rocket attacks
since the 1967 war. Israel agreed to a ceasefire in fighting "across the
Israeli-Lebanese border"... and although the PLO was not mentioned by name, the
Palestinians say Israel has for the first time acknowledged that they are its
military opponents.

Who the fuck is this narrator!? What moronic idiot says things like "the Syrians have the right to be in Lebanon"!? That's like saying, " the Germans have the right to invade Poland because they are neighbors!" "It seems like the various factions in Lebanon are learning to live with each other!"... So if groups in America fight with each other, then Canada and Mexico have the right to station troops there!?? What absolute garbage!!! Why is it one set of rules for the Americans and another for other people?! When some Al Quaida People attacked New York....the US went 12000 miles around the world to invade Afghanistan...but when Israel was being shelled MERCILESSLY for 6 weeks in July 1981, Israel is not allowed to respond!!!

But again, the United States is allowed to invade Afghanistan, 12000 miles away from America, to "pre-emptivley" prevent Al Quaida from attacking the US... yet it's the civilian who suffer also!! Why is the US allowed to bomb and invade countries half way round the world: but Israel, who is NEXT DOOR to Lebanon, is not allowed to destroy those who wish to destroy it!!

Syria a legitimate right to be in Lebanon!??? Since when!?? Explain to me when Lebanon ever once attacked Syria 🇸🇾?! "A peace keeping force?!!" Peacekeeping! That's a laugh!! Yet Israel had been repeatedly attacked by Lebanon, yet it is not allowed to defend itself! AP is a biased, pro-PLO mouthpiece!!

I agree with you except that Lebanon was always and is to this day a Syrian satellite. So Syria and Lebanon are co responsible in their aggression against Israel. But you're right; we're always expected to be the only saints in this world.

Lebanon 🇱🇧 Palestine 🇵🇸 Jordan 🇯🇴 were part of Syria, the prove is Sykes Biko and Balfour promised. However the French splits Lebanon from Syria and the English split Palestine from Lebanon
