With the massive influx of these guns over the past few years, I hope that once ammo gets back to some semblance of normalcy that PPU will make more 6.5 carcano. In maybe 5 years. I had 2 of the single shot clips 3d printed. They work great.

A bit late but how'd it turn out? Just picked up one for 150 from a sale they did but it's under a 2-4 week shipping period before I get to see how mine is

I just got an RTI Carcano carbine but don’t even plan to shoot it. I bought it for nostalgia’s sake because my Dad was in the Italian armored corp during WWII and they were issued the Cavalry Carcano as a tanker rifle. I thought it would be cool to have the same type rifle he was holding in his old photos. Mine is a Terni 1936 production rifle so it might even be roughly the same vintage. I have plenty of stuff to shoot that works better so the Carcano will be a mantelpiece display type rifle.

Reloading is the way of the future of shooting milsurps. All these carcanos are great but may as well be lamps unless you got boolets

Great video! I used the PPU ammo on 4 of my M91 carbines and it was dead on and feeds very smoothly. The sights are definitely hard to get used to, especially with the abnormal sight picture and the sights being set for such great distances.

Yea I find the sights difficult to really get on target. My 7.35 Carcano M38 Short Rifles seem to be fine though

Howdy Dan.. the carcanos that i have 3 of them.. my only complaint is that the 6th round.. it doesn't feed it just pop's up and points up and doesn't feed. Also the bolt doesn't match and can be VERY sticky and is not smooth at all. I guess that at all the outlets that sell them the rifles were shipped with out the bolts in the rifles and the matching bolt was never got back to the matching rifle. OK THANKS DAN !

Take everything apart and clean with brake cleaner or a similar material. I’m talking rub that gun so clean The Madonna herself would eat off of it. As for the last round pop off check to make sure your clip isn’t worn out. I had the same issue until I switched to a modern repro with strong build quality vs n 80 year old piece of flimsy metal. Hope it helps these are good rifles just need to learn their quirks.

@@BattlefieldCurator brass or steel? My brass clips that I picked up have seen better days and really just don’t hold the rounds well enough. By the time it reaches the final round it doesn’t have the retention force to keep it in place.

Hi. I was gonna ask your opinion regarding ETA on ammo availability and a projected $ amount. Also, what’s the chance it falls in the same category as the arisaka meaning ammo way too expensive if even available to plink. I know Nothing will ever top the Mosin crates of yesteryear and the copious green metal containers from the Eastern bloc. It would be nice if someone discovers a huge climate controlled vault of 6.5 carcano.

Steinel and PPU make new production. Might be able to find some older Norma, Hornady, or PPU at some hole in the wall shops still. I’ve seen 6.5 Carcano of $50 a box at some places. No idea on current production or availability, War in Ukraine causing a lot of constraints with weapon and ammo production according to a source from Century Arms
