I finally got a day to attend to the dirt and grime and endless rust on this ancient war relic. It turned out great and I am happy with it. Comment below if you would get one yourself based on this one from RTI.

id get one.. i got a vetterli-carcano from them. refinished it all looks a treat, lugs are nice and crisp no cracks. have some chamber cleaning to finish up and it will be a shooter. RTI guns arent for beginners. they are for folks who are willing to gamble their skills VS what arrives..

Jesus this thing looks great! The wood turned out way better than I was expecting. Metal too. A bit of pitting but that shine is great!

Looks like the one I received at about the same time. Your stock is much better than mine though. BTW the middle and 3rd barrel bands are on backwards.

Wish I had got one in that good of shape. Unfortunately my receiver, barrel and magazine were covered in 1-2mm deep pits. And no rifling

Yes, unfortunately it can be a gamble with RTI and I have been somewhat lucky with the two I purchased from them. Still have to shoot it though, been busy with honey do tasks.

Thanks! The bore is dirty but plenty of rifling left, it is going to take many cleanings to get it where I like it. The unboxing vid has a shot of it in it.

How do you clean the dirt off of the stock? Can you use water and a rag?

You can use some mineral spirits and some 0000 steel wool and if you have some stubborn dirt you can also use a brass brush which will take it off. The steel wool will also get the rust off as well without harming the finish. Then give it a good coat of oil.
