@@zWORMzGaming Exactly! I have a laptop with a RTX 4050 so it is good enough for most of the recent titles in 1080p, but some old games (particularly Ubisoft games lol) run worse or just not as good as it should so I decided to make a retro machine, found a deal so here we go!

@@aleksazunjic9672 You must be a playstaion pony, in the world of PC most games (not all) in early access start at medicore performace but once it leaves early access it will be better 100%. Some are out right out of the gate at very acceptable performace just depends on the dev team. Give them time you bought the game knowningly in the shape by the reviews of the game.

Imo the 2060 should be the baseline for 1080p 60 on low. If the game's not getting that, it's a really bad sign.

@@PS50065 2060 performance and 6gb vram is plenty and should be more than enough for any game, just games badly optimized like this one want to make you think that it's not. There are games that are looking more appealing on a PS4, which has a GPU comparable to mid-range radeon from 2013, and it got 8GB of memory shared for both CPU and GPU, and this game cannot even fit into the 6GB of VRAM that 2060 has, making all textures look like games from the PS2 era, that's just terrible optimization and nothing else.

@@habib6863 it's called ryzen control master It lets you control the frequencies and the overclock on your CPU outside of the bios. If you don't know what that is try googling. My CPU doesn't break a sweat unless I overclock which is what you're not doing. The thing is I do this with a long list of many games with streaming and recording on top of them and I never experienced the temperatures that I experience on this game. I know exactly what I'm talking about.

i think the performance issue maybe due to the grass. idk why but having too many grass/trees in a small area is usually very intensive and u can lose about half of your fps. i had the same issue when i was playing a map in fortnite creative

Not all of those stutters are shader related, some of them are traversal stutter and when it happens CPU usage not only doesn't goes up but goes down

these fps remind me of playing crysis for the first time in 2009 on my top of the line gaming pc with like the best gpu available at the time, a gtx 295, and i still got 30 something fps at 1080p max settings and 4xaa but at least the textures looked sharp back then haha

I know it might sound unnecessary but if you ever find a 2080Ti at a good price I would recommend testing it on ANY game, see if it still holds up in 2024. I know some people who kept their 2080Ti when the 30 and 40 series came out.

I have the 2060 super (8gb) and honestly even tarkov runs at 100+ fps with optimized settings, I get that the game just released but optimizing the game should be a priority right now as 80% of people can't even have a smooth experience above 60fps

Ive got a Ryzen 7 5700g, 64gb of DDR4 3200mhz OC'd to 4000mhz, a 3080 12gb, and the game was installed on a Samsung 980 pro, and this game still ran choppily and felt sluggish. I had all settings besides textures (set them to high), everything else was set on low, and FSR3 with frame gen was enabled, and I was still barely getting 60 to 70fps. This game needs a LOT of optimization for the average gamer to find it playable. Great video man!

That GPU is being kept back with the x8 3.0pcie bandwidth. Be interesting to see how much better a 5600 would do. That can be had for around 80 at AliExpress right now

you are cpu limited. Due to a combination of UE5, unoptimized and shader compilation issues, cpu is your biggest culprit. I am running a 3080 with a 7800x3d and I am getting smooth but not perfect 60fps with a mix of medium and high settings and dlss on. Again it is not smooth the game is early access, but still.

@graham3214 I think it's the CPU for sure. It barely has any L3 cache and it did come out of a pre-built I had bought a few years ago. It's a good APU, but it's not a very good standalone CPU imo.

You need to try the rx 6900 xt right now cause i have it and it runs GZW at epic everything, native 1440p at 90 to 100fps and when i turn on fsr-quality and frame gen i get 130 to 150 fps

Par for the course for UE5 games. Nearly all of these UE5 games coming out rely completely on upscaling because nobody optimizes the games in this engine for some reason. I assume it has something to do with the tools they are using to create the environment, but who knows.

Yeah, it can run HFW just fine on high, many other games will play at 1080p medium-high with 60 fps, this is an exception

One of the issues with your setup is that you have a FAR superior CPU and RAM package to go along with a lower end GPU. It makes a big difference. I'm running a 2080 OC'd.. and it's just about matching your 2060. It may even be worse, but I'm running 21:9 ultra wide. Had to drop to 1080p. I have 32GB of ram, but it's DDR4 3200. Also only have a 8700K OC'd to 4.8ghz. I'm considering a 4070 to finish the build. At least for this PC. I'd basically have to buy a new MB to gain access to better chipsets. And at that point I'd just buy a whole new PC.

Yup. But I'm testing the GPU after all, testing with a CPU bottleneck wouldn't be a GPU test. Wait for patches that improve CPU performance, I was going to use my 3600X for this video but it bottlenecked the 2060, can't have that on a GPU benchmark

My friend doesn't have a SSD. He runs on HDD. Is it possible to play or does it need an ssd? I find nothing about it.

As far as I know it should be playable on a hdd. The only difference may be that he has longer loading times.

The devs are using RTX 6000 Ada Generation, I can understand but they have to optimize their game right? Not everyone hasn't RTX 6000 in result.

people should know that its unoptimized, as well as the fact that this wasn't really suppose to come out in general but guess what the fans of it begged for it, complaining about how youtubers can play it but not them, fault of fans for not letting it cook it more for an acceptable ea launch

I knew it. The DLSS and DLAA save the lower SKU RTX cards while the game is still unoptimized. And the FSR saves everything. Geez. I am so tired of it.

RTX 2060 is still great for lighter games like Counter Strike 2 or Overwatch 2 (if you play 4:3 competitive settings)

I am using GTX 1080ti 2666mhz 16g i5 10500t I notice than when so many players it will stutter more if less player like 7 players it will run smoothly I am suing FSR Quality Medium settings stale 70 75fps

Textures in newer games take up more VRAM for the same sharpness because the object variety is much greater so there are many more textures that need to be stored in VRAM. Not to mention, VRAM is used for a lot of other things too so even with lowest textures, VRAM consumption will still be high. So I think your comparison to CS Source is unfair.

Yea, and then the artists are forced to live up to creating detail and realism of that value or everything looks oddly out of place. There's value in devs matching what their artists are capable of and not dumping high poly objects everywhere forcing everyone to upgrade just because they can.

My opinion after watching many cards kind of fail in this game : the Devs did a really good job, they must've worked with marketing geniuses because lets be honest : This game would never be as popular as it will be because how most graphics cards fail and people talk about it 201iq Marketing, absolutely brilliant

With the lag and poor texture quality of FSR with FG at 60fps, it would be better to just play native and lock it to 30. If all you are going to get is a 30 feel, why do I care if it looks a bit smoother?
