Can't believe you actually checked them out! These guys were a huge part of my growing up and I absolutely love their two records (this song being one of my favourites). Well you definitely jumped in the deep end on LTE! Glad to see you thoroughly enjoying it! If you want another monster track from three out of the four guys on stage, I highly recommend Glass Prison by Dream Theater.

Never heard this track or performance before. I don't understand how this can make so much sense from beginning to end. Every tone had to be exactly the way it was for this track to feel right. It's so much. Such groove. Exceptional.

This entire DVD is the best thing since humans invented the wheel. Feel free to react to every single track. : ) I'd personally recommend Paradigm Shift, Rhapsody in Blue and State of Grace.

Its so funny how this became the blue print for so much or Systematic Chaos. Even BCSL with the guitar tones at the start. But Portnoy definitely revisioned some of the grooves here for SC.

Ah finally. This is definitely the song from LTE to check out and a rare performance because they've only done a handful of shows ever (1999 and 2008 I think). I know it's DT guys and Tony Levin, but as a song it is up there with some of the best DT music. Glad Dream Theater had enough of a break for them to play and film this show in 2008 :)

Ruben - I can see on your face that music moves you emotionally. Me too - I often uncontrollably weep when I listen to such beauty. I hear our Creator's voice in each instrument. No human can do what these guys seem to do so effortlessly. All of Portnoy's bands are of this caliber - Dream Theater, Transatlantic, Flying Colors - especially my current obsession, The Neal Morse Band. Please listen to "So Far Gone" by The Neal Morse Band.

Some of the part of Dream Theatre / LTE music sounds like 'running and ignoring' the Metronome... and the best thing is, although out of the metronome, they still solid and easily back again to metronome...

You should check out Transatlantic with Mike Portnoy and Neal Morse, its a prog super group. I like Duel with the Devil but the song is 25 to 30 minutes long. LOL

You can learn to play a musical instrument. Maybe not like this but it's definitely possible. It takes a good teacher, at least an hour every day to practice your lessons, and just stick to it without fail. Within less time than you think you will be playing music that is from your soul.

This group has actually had a rotating lineup going through it over the years. The first album from years ago had a different lineup. It was still wild and crazy.

Man I miss Portnoy in DT.Mangini is incredible,and a really cool likeable guy,but DT isn’t the same without Portnoy.I also feel like Portnoy is wasting his talent playing with inferior bands.No disrespect to those other musicians,clearly all phenomenal players,I’m only referring to the style of music these bands are playing.When you’re at the pinicle of a musical genre,the only place to go is down.
