Started here because I bought a set of ruger vaqueros then got lost in a bunch of horse packin, knofe throwin, gun twirlin vids. Awesome channel this here is.

Perfect angles, one of the best instructional videos I've seen yet. Actually think I'd be able to get the thing together again after watching haha.

Bravo👍🏼💪🏽fantastic instructional video. I have a Ruger super Wrangler and the workings are very similar to the Vaquero This helped me so much more than the Ruger instruction video which is fuzzy and fast and got me all exercised and sweaty 🥵 at 3 am. keep up the good work

Glad I found this, I recently inherited a Ruger New Vaquero and as an old Marine you know I have to clean it throughly. 😂

BY the time you are done, you and the gun will have a solid connection. Have fun.

@@rhinestoneropers9204 I’m not a fan of the black plastic grips, rosewood, simulated ivory or stag would look better with the polished stainless steel.

Thank you for guiding me through this. I bought my vaquero a month ago and my pawl snapped from cocking and decocking too much. I bought a new pawl and had to completely disassemble my gun. I have sucessfully replaced the broken part with your help. Thanks!

Never have I wanted to chuck a gun until I bought one of these. Hog trap full of hogs and I'm 3 bullets in and it won't cock or turn, I open the loading gate and the cylinder can turn. I have to turn the cylinder and cock it. I ended up having to get one of my co-workers to help finish popping hogs. I would give this gun away if someone gave one to me. Did a teardown and the cylinder latch spring is junked. So yeah. Not a Ruger Vaquero single 6 fan.

I'm sorry about that. Usually these are very reliable guns.

Great video. I took my 2008 Ruger Vaquero Bisley apart to change out the trigger and hammer springs. It went back together ok following your lead but now the loading gate won't open all the way. I rechecked your video about the spring and how the gate works but could not figure it out. The spring wants to pop out to the side and will not lock in. Should I maybe replace the loading gate spring? It does look a little worn out. And if so where would you order the spring from? Thanks.
@rhinestoneropers92044 ай бұрын
I would be surprised to find that the Gate Detent Spring is worn out. You should be able to take the cylinder out and use a small screw driver to push the spring back into place. If you need a new one, I would go to Numrich Gun Parts to order. They should cost about $10.00. If you have trouble, I would be interested to hear about it. Good Luck Dan

@@rhinestoneropers9204 Thanks again, Dan. I did push the spring back into place but no luck. I am going to take the pin out and check the spring and I did order a new one just in case it's bad. The gun was working great before the trigger & hammer spring job. It's got to be something simple. I'll let you know how it goes.

@@rhinestoneropers9204 Hi Dan, I did get a new gate detent spring and through sweat and toil I got the old one out and the new one in. The old one did have a ruff surface where it engaged the gate. Probably done when it fell off center and I tried to force the gate open when I finished assembling it the first time. It works great now. Thanks again for your video. It made all the difference.
