I know just how Chad felt. Been there and done that 2 times myself. Right down the mountain I went.

Reminds me of the ol' straight drive Franklin skidders. Nobody ever took time to line the brakes on them. You had to have a set of balls to run one in these mountains around here!

cotontop3, I don't comment much, I want to start by saying that I'm glad to hear the outcome was good because that coulda went BAD many different ways. if that woulda articulated on him, like you said, no good. video does nothing to show the terrain we woked on. worked this same loggin for 4 yrs, S Ohio, KY and WV. seen many a rolled machine and had my share of O CRAP moments myself, a couple in a 635 in fact. I mostly ran a hydro-ax and skidder on those hills but also excavator for clean up. I can appreciate what you do my man, enjoy the videos from my easy chair and they still get the ticker pumpin!!

We have a E625C which I was told is essentially a 635D. Same pumps and motors just no turnaround and no reverse fan. It used to have a hydraulic release spring applied multi-disc parkbrake on the tailshaft just behind the pivot. But Tigercat replaced that with a manual lever to calliper on centre disc. They said the original one we had were blowing apart. Getting to the point I got curious one day and turned her at the bottom of a little hill with a hill opposite so no harm could happen just to see what it would do. It stayed put with parkbrake off. Might have to try a bigger hill and for longer to see after seeing this. Another thing is they need a brake down the backend. Do a tailshaft on a big Hill and those front wheels won't pull her up. Had a worker back down to me one day when hand falling, he stopped and I walked behind to get the rope and pull it down over a side to get a log out. Well he put the blade down and it went on a greasy stick and one side boggie just happen to be on another greasy stick and as he lifted the front wheels off the ground the boggies counter rotated and she was off after me. (makes you move quick) when the boggie got off the stick (sapling) she stopped. Operator said he was pushing the brake harder and harder and she wouldn't stop. Oh and don't the brakes (or front brake) have an accumulator that are good for a few applications? Ours does.

Glad to hear everybody was alright . Years Ago I have seen a 655B John Deere Loader do the same . The operator in that incident wasnt hurt either . But He said he thought he needed to change his Levi's after that.

Glad everyone was ok in this one! There are always dangers in logging but you don't need a machine to have safety problems with how they are made.

Glad no one was hurt. I had dozer start rolling backwards off gooseneck as I dropped second ramp onto dovetail. All I could do was move and hope it didn't turnover. It rolled over ramps and off back of gooseneck hit ground but didn't roll over backwards.

Really glad nobody got hurt. Logging is a dangerous job, and machine failure enhanced the danger greatly in this accident!
