i know no one asked , but i played a song that i wrote with this drum track , and it fits perfectly and i've been repeating it over and over for 20-30 minutes , and i just wanna say thanks to the man/woman who uploads this

I never noticed that the snare hit tells you when to move from E to D until I played along to just the drums. Thanks for uploading

Incredible. I remember finding out somewhere a long time ago that they didn't use a click on this album. This proves it! That being said for the me the feel and dynamic arc of the song is way better than anything you could achieve with a click. And the control of the cymbals....this is way more clean and precise than I would've guessed it would sound. Masterful

They did an interview right after firing Jimmy, where they said the replacement drummer for the tour (guy from filter) played too perfectly. they had to train him be a little looser which kinda fits what you're noticing here

You can have a click track and not hear it on all tracks. In fact, it can only be coming through the headphones only and not recorded

Their first 3-4 albums were live recording, if we’re counting Pisces Iscariot. Live recordings don’t always turn out well. Jimmy keeps the rhythm consistent enough to make it work.

I always heard the drumline as being played at a faster tempo in the song......weird

I think it's because Jimmy's groove is pretty loose in this song, especially in the verses. Almost John Bonham like!

@@samcampbell1351 That's what I love about Jimmy's playing. It has "swing" to it. I don't mean like a triplet swing, but rather that there is "air" to his parts, and slight lilt to his playing. Impeccable, musical phrasing. Bonham does come to mind. A rock drummer with a bit of a jazz backbone (which I know Jimmy was fond of.)

I feel when you put this up against the original track it is missing certain crash and or China hits ? Is it just me ? I think this is pretty damn close but also if you watch Jimmy play it live there’s a lot more going on. While it is understood that in a studio setting you would hold back a little more and keep it somewhat in the pocket, albeit this is anything but.

As much as I wouldn't be surprised if they were, given the drum libraries that are out there. But those flams are too good... those sound dead on to the track

I think its extracted straight from the studio mp3, you can hear some bleed in from the bass. some websites and programs can do this for any song
