In today's video we start off by picking another load of corn off the big Irrigator 143 field that we broke open the previous night. Once I got the truck dumped we headed back over and I blew off the corn head and the 690 and dad blew off the draper. We then started moving equipment over to the River Farm so we could cut beans later that day. Andy from Kondex stopped by to see how things were going with the KX7 Concaves (awesome btw) and he also let us borrow a loss measuring kit (we will use in a future video). Once we got moved over to the river Glascock Equipment dropped off a brand new MacDon FD140 flex draper for us to demo on our S690. A short while later our local John Deere dealer, Greenmark Equipment brought over a 2016 John Deere S680 and a 2017 John Deere 640FD for us to demo alongside our 2012 S690 running the new MacDon FD140. Thank you to both Glascock Equipment and Greenmark Equipment for letting us demo these machines!

The reason the 2016 model is quieter in the cab is, In 2014 when they went to the tier 4 Final engines they made some changes to the combines and one of the changes were changing the cab mounts so that you feel and hear less noise and vibrations,also they added better seals around the door and windows added some soundproofing material and a laminated front windshield.So yes the 2014's with urea a VERY noticeably quieter.You meant the feeder house fore/aft not lateral tilt.The John Deere is built like a tank compared to the mcdon.

We had the 680 for a demo to, that combine floats over the iragation ruts. The combine is so quiet, we over filled because it dose not have a full buzer, only a 3/4 buzer.

I'm open to demoing anything as long as the dealer is open to working with us. Though most don't think much of having us demo equipment. I'm hoping this video will open their eyes on the quality of videos I produce.

Never had the opportunity with a MacDon so I would be a bit prejudiced toward the JD as that is what I have had the opportunity to operate - both in the 35' and 40' without issues and really enjoyed the option of watching the entire belt like you indicated.

When you say irrigate do you mean a pivot? Is that the only way you irrigate? And did you have to drill a well or can you pump from a stream or something? Thanks love the vid
@WernerAg
@WernerAg 4 жыл бұрын
Good questions. Yes when I say "irrigate" I am refering to our pivots. That is the only way we irrigate our crops on our farm though a few neighbors are trying out sub drip irrigation to see if there is a benefit over the pivots.
