Karachi's in line to become the third most populated city in the world by 2030. The city has grown so fast, that it can only supply half the water the city needs. Its situation has been exacerbated by municipal mismanagement, industrial pollution, and infrastructure problems. Climate change is projected to make it worse.

The main reason for water shortage is not climate change, but overpopulation. The third biggest city in the world in a country like Pakistan? What do they expect, there are natural limits, with or without climate change.

No, not overpopulation but uneducated people and greedy selfish government. India and china has large population but they are taking care of their people. You can get water easily, heck you can even get water in desert. Their government is either ignorant on how to get water or prioritizing other things over it. Heck, Israel just started 50 years ago, and they are so advanced now getting water from the sea. Problem is poor governance.

This is the land of my ancestors they protected it nurtured it it was lush green when it was part of India they are following customs and traditions designed for arabic deserts what else do they expect

shukran ya allah for everything im so lucky for my place that I have a sufficient water just only outside of our house that anytime I wash my clothe I shower and to clean the whole house the water is always available and free her in my country everytime they have haivy rain I always say shukran ya rabbi for the water you given us it so wonderful blessing for everybody.

India is not to blame for the shortage of water in pakistan but poor managenent is the problem..rather then terrorism give more efforts in sustaining water and improving infrastructure in pakistan. Every person has the right to water. Misusing should be strictly stopped.

Pakistan's fertility rates are declining rapidly. Also, both India and Pakistan effectively both need large armies given India is threatened by Pakistan and China Pakistan is threatened by India and the US. Pakistan got nukes after India pointed nukes towards them. There's a big geopolitical picture that you're not seeing here. In addition, one reason why my parent's home place (Kashmir) is now being fought over in the modern day is because of it's plentiful water supply. Both India and Pakistan want that. The water wars have already begun. You can't exactly defend your water supply from another country without an army to defend it.

Desalination,Pump from Indus are the two solutions..Look at Los angeles & Dubai...But first you need to address the corruption & infrastructure issue..
