I hear you say I could've done more and I can appreciate your dedication but nothing lasts forever and old units need to be replaced. I always tell my techs to find the immediate problem and get it running. If the unit is in disrepair, bring it to the home owners attention, write it up and move along. For the price of a service call people will let you spend hrs and then complain about the bill.

I agree with you whole heatedly. I just say that for the few people who like to hop in the comments and say "how come you didn't check this or that?" Which to a degree I understand where they're coming from. An informed customer is the best customer however what I've found with these rental properties is they don't give a poop and just want things running as cheaply as possible Just like that last unit, it's from the early or mid 90s I believe, and we've replaced basically everything, compressor was just done about a year ago. And I did the condenser fan before that. If I'm called out here doing the winter this year I'm definitely using my combustion analyzer to make sure it's still safe to run

@AB_HVAC ok I get it I didn't know the history and dealing with management company's are a whole different animal. I have 5 service tech that work for me and I wish they all had your passion for getting it right. Keep up the good work and I'll be looking forward to your next upload.

@sofalvr thanks for watching this one ✊🏽💯🔥 I just try to keep the same mentality my mentor taught me in Michigan dealing with homeowners. I've had to adapt coming down to the south and dealing with management's but I still try to be thorough when I can

A cap and an easy wire splice. Lucky dog. I was hoping for a blower motor in the attic ...

I wouldn't have minded that today lol it wasn't that hot but humid as hell

Awesome video brother. Get feeling better. I do the same on capacitor for compressor ill go 5 higher and on fan side i put in what it calls for i dont go higher....thats how they show us in school. 🤟💯🌎
@AB_HVAC8 күн бұрын
Bro that's so odd. In Michigan I was always taught to only go higher on fan motors not compressors. I've even used higher mfd on fan motors to sometimes free them up
@Paul-IE-Repairs7 күн бұрын
that's a typical "guys who install titanpro capacitors" install you found there. Unit is off and you already have a 6 condenser temp split, haha! wow thats efficient!!!

AB that first unit was so old you should have told those people to take it back to the Smithsonian Institute where they got from. 1997, man please! Don't have a second thought about deep diving on that one.

My personal r22 heatpump was installed January 1997. On my 3rd condenser fan motor, my second blower motor, a couple of capacitors, and yesterday when it was 94F outside, it's doing 19.7F delta T...

@@chrisscott1547 What brand is that 97?

i like how you do good work but i don’t like to check pressures on the system if its a package unit just because its a weighed in charge as long as its got a good split i wouldn’t check charge good work tho
@AB_HVAC7 күн бұрын
I can respect that. My boss just wants us to provide the screenshot of the pressure on our invoice

Jeez, If it's not one thing it's another! Nice work!! What's your opinion on those package units vs having the compressor outside and air handler inside? Just curious b/c we don't see/have many of those in my area. Thanks!
@AB_HVAC23 сағат бұрын
I love package units, it's a lot easier to track down leaks or shorts in my opinion because everything is RIGHT there
@jkmarshall355323 сағат бұрын
@@AB_HVAC Yeah, that's what I thought... no having to go inside and then back outside to gather all that info. And no air handler to deal with up in a hot cramped dark attic. Thanks for the reply!
@Twotimeshvac8 күн бұрын
I was told the other way you can go up or down 5 on compressor but not on the fan I try not to do it anyways cuz the next guy won't know I went up or down then he can think he can go down 5 again not knowing

@@AB_HVAC It's never good idea to go to a bigger capacitor on any motor.
@AB_HVAC8 күн бұрын
@chrissipple1018 that's fair. I can understand only sticking to what it calls for
