The plaintiff says he and his fiancé rented a room from the defendant, but they were illegally kicked out. The defendant refuses to return the rent they’re owed, so they’re suing. The defendant says she and one of the plaintiffs got into an argument, so she told them to get out.

It’s pretty ridiculous that this woman was renting out rooms in a house that Habitat for Humanity built for her. It’s meant to house your family and not be an income producing property. The same goes for asking a tenant to pay for repairs.

The landlord was taking advantage of these 2. Her whole electric bill was prob $200. Then asking them to pay to repair the toilet & shrubs. A bottle of cleaner from the dollar store & 2 squares of toilet paper would've cleaned the flaky skin debacle. This whole thing was a money making scheme for the defendant. Paying $600 for a urine soaked & haired filled environment is ridiculous!!

No way her whole electric bill was $200. I talk to people every day about their struggles with bills. They tell me how much their electricity bills are. So no way 8 people with AC running have a $200 bill. Not even in the winter time. I don't even believe they would even have that low of a bill if they would on level billing.

I completely understood what he was trying to explain with the whole dead skin thing. Working at the hospital and nursing homes, I noticed that no matter how clean I was keeping my patients, men of color did seem to lose a lot of dead skin everytime I changed them. ( Don't rant at me, this was not to be offensive just an observation over my 30+ years work)

And to my surprise, the two engaged gentlemen, Jay & Kevin, were the most civil in the household. Also, in many States, if a landlord refuses to return rent money, they have to pay the tenants double or triple the amount.
