I think there are 2 points to this: the water can't be aimed at the door, (especially frameless) and the floor must* have the right pitch. *Before* you install a frameless door, you'd check the floor with a level. He didn't check the floor until he went back.... unreal.

The shower stream should never point at the shower doors. The design was flawed from the beginning.

Around the door you might have a 2% gap, which means 98% of the water will be contained IF all of the surfaces that the glass sits on are pitched correctly so the water is diverted back toward your drain....So, make sure your tile contractor puts the correct pitch on the surfaces so the water is directed the appropriate way - back toward the drain. That will solve 98% of all leakage from a frameless shower door (assuming you are not spraying water directly at the gaps with your handheld sprayer, as that will surely leak too)." So even if the plaintiff uses the 90 degree angle pipe, the shower curb slopes in the wrong direction (outward) so water will still leak (albeit not as much with the shower head not spraying water directly at the door).

The judge always says "I'm the daughter of a contractor, I'm the sister of a contractor." So that makes her totally knowledgeable about all things a contractor does? I'm a family member of an air force pilot. I don't know diddly about flying any planes.🤷‍♂

The issue with angling the shower head differently is that some people hate waterfall showers like myself. If I am paying for the door you better make sure its sealed or don't do the job.

I redone all 3 of my bathrooms. Never would I directed the shower stream directly at the door. That's asking for a leak, smh. I'm surprised she got a dime.

Actually, the shower head she selected wasn't designed to be on an angle, and definitely not leaning against the wall. That is a rainforest style that is meant to hang off an extended pipe so the shower head faces straight down. It seems like her original contractor should have known that.

The plaintiff shouldn’t have gotten anything. The main problem was the orientation of the shower head , which she did not do. Also I would say frameless without seals- how can it be watertight? And to add the pitch on the bottom and the tiles crooked. However the main thing is that the defendant was willing to go back and fix the leaking issue; then instead she kicked him out and sued . I think she is fortunate that she got a person that responded back. Most contractors would just not answer her calls.

That large sort of shower head is designed to be facing downwards, so why is it not facing downwards right from the start and why doesn't the door have seals around it, right from the start? Because the plaintiff wanted the shower head facing like that and she wanted a frameless door with no seals, this is not on him in any way, he should have had to refund anything...

My showerhead I can adjust and angle. I always angle it either down or against the shower wall. Or course we just have an open side with only a curtain.

The judge got this right always hit and miss water shooting at the door .The woman's a Karen the screen was installed correctly she had more of a case against the tiler. No expert testimony should of got nothing another bs finding.

The answer to that viewers' question makes no sense. If the other person literally confesses their wrongdoings after a case, how is that not enough proof for a judge to rule against him

I also hate when the Judge talks about her contractor brother and dad. Which doesn't matter because I've been s contractor for nearly 45 years and I don't claim that I know everything in construction. I think the problem here is the shower head needs to be diverted away from the door and also the pitch of the curb has an issue as the slope should be towards the inside of the shower.

Never a goo idea to have the shower head shooting water directly at the door. Why do you think most shower head are on the side. Bad design by the contractor or the homeowner.

Their names are too similar, I kept getting confused. haha. Seriously though, when he was putting the door in, he should have seen that the curb was angled out instead of in. Any idiot knows you have to have all angles in places with water directed to the drain, not away from it. I think the 90 degree pipe would have helped some, but if the angle of the curb can't be changed, the door needs seals.

90 degrees makes no difference. The door needs some kind of seal or you need to change the construction of the door and its frame.

I've seen a few People's Court cases where someone has made such silly comments after court, that suggested they really did owe to pay and won anyway, I was wondering how they dealt with it -- secretly, I hoped that Judge Milian would recall them and take that evidence, and adjust the ruling - I'm a bit disappointed to see that they can gloat in the hall of the People's Court that they got away with it, and the poor losing side just looks like a sap on TV. It does make the judge look a bit bad when that happens, so I figured they'd have some sort of resolution. It's rare, if I can think of a specific episode, I'll link it below, but it's pretty rare for someone to be that dumb afterwards.

I don't understand what is the problem he is keep put the shower door and he needs to make sure that it doesn't matter even if she feels up the whole shower with one of those the way to the top and wants to swim in there that the water doesn't leak to the outside that is his problem not her problem, why is it the judges do not like when there's a lady that she's kind of spoiled this is the way she wants things and she was willing to pay whatever it takes and put them perform a good service. Just don't like that they don't like a strong female

the shower head has nothing to do with the water leaking out from the shower door and enclosure . the leak is from the bottom of the door not having the correct type of seal at the bottom and sides of it . also the bottom of the rest of the enclosure has to be caulked to seal that properly too .

Owning a home is a complete blessing. But you have to find the right people to do these kinds of jobs described in this case or you'll end up in court.

there IS double jeopardy in criminal cases as well. If the State tries you, you're found not guilty, and the Feds don't like it, they try you for the same crime, with the same penalty. They just call the crime by a different name.

I’m sorry but it should be water tight during regular shower conditions. Shouldn’t leak at all. End of story. I like the judge but she definitely thinks she is an expert in areas she is not. And isn’t it the defendant’s choice to decide what she likes and doesn’t like as far as how it looks? The judge did a poor job on this case.
