I recently decided to try run up the steepest street in England.
Vale Street in Totterdown, Bristol is officially recognised as the steepest residential street in England.
The top 5 steepest streets in England:
5. Gold Hill, Dorset (widely known for featuring in a 1973 Hovis advert)
4. Steep Hill, Lincoln
3. Blake Street, Sheffield
2. Old Wyche Road, Malvern Hills
1. Vale Street, Bristol

I was visiting my son who lives in Bristol and we decided to tackle Vale Street together. You're right - it's steep. He managed two runs, I managed three. Thanks for pointing out these challenges. Shaftesbury next target.

@@thisisjogon there's a particularly steep hill near me that is also lined with multi-coloured houses. I'm definitely going to do a Vale Street-style sprint up it!

Ha Aidan, I will also try to bear this in mind for the next hilly parkrun, the big difference is that this is just over very quickly, long hills are something else. Cheers for watching Aidan

Try Porlock Hill It climbs approximately 1,300 ft (400 m) in less than 2 miles (3.2 km) up onto Exmoor. This part of the road is very steep hill with gradients of up to 1 in 4 and hairpin bends. The climb is simply terrible. It’s a real leg breaker.

Another brilliant video Harry! love the editing with two Harry's in one shot and the spiderman pose at the bottom of the street was another highlight. have to ask did you get the crown for the strava segment up vale street?

The two Harry's marked either an advance in editing ability or a chance to unsubscribe 'we really don't need double of him' Apparently not, this has been looked into after. The fastest time was just so stupidly fast it's difficult to believe it was done by someone on foot. Cheers for watching Shaun 🧡

I used to walk down this street sometimes on the way back from school... Never up it lol but I did take some pretty step streets nonetheless to get to school too.

I can barely run 100m on a flat surface in 17s, you are running up the mother of all hills in the same time! God damn, I am so unfit :D PS House's spots looks like a mix between Jaguar's and Leopard's print. Jaguar's have a spot in the middle and the form is more elaborate.

I do wonder if the locals are sick of people coming to their road and going 'wow this is so steep' I'm sure a bearded runner shouting about it wouldn't have helped that
