Thanks! Stay tuned Windows NT 3.51 is coming next. So far it works in single CPU mode, but I think it can be convinced to work in multi-CPU mode also...

I had so much trouble getting NT 4 Server to run on 90s hardware and then here you come running it on modern hardware. The hard disk formatting requirements are so ridiculous and half the time it doesn't even create a bootable drive. And all of that trouble to run software that runs on Windows 9x anyways.

I have also problems with the installation on this Intel 13th gen configuration. At this moment, I can't perform a fresh install - it simply reboots with no error message for troubleshooting. However, I can boot using an existing NT4 installation. Basically I have to copy a working WINNT folder and to make the drive bootable. I suspect that using the original ISO from 1996 isn't helping either. I have to look for an updated ISO with SP6a.

I remember the weirdness about the partitioning. The setup couldn’t create new NTFS partitions. If you chose NTFS during setup it instead formatted the partition in FAT16 and converted it to NTFS later in the setup. Usually resulting a 512 byte cluster size which was slow!

I will try, so far I'm recycling this NT 4 workstation installation from the last video with NT 4 running on Intel 13th gen, which is the same installation used in another video: NT 4 + Ryzen 9 3900X. :) This installation has UniATA drivers and I can simply plug the SSD in any SATA port and it works... I have to see what it takes to make a fresh install of NT4 on Intel modern hardware because it didn't work on this Intel 13th Gen configuration.

First time I hear about Mitsubishi 3D chip found in this unknown Accelgraphics card. I totally forgot about MPS. I have an HP Z600, didn't check yet. But this is a workstation and wouldn't make any sense to not have multi processor specification. I don't know if I'm gonna use it, for my use case Windows 98 does a better job than Windows NT.

I prefer Windows 98 too. I mean, every game and software just works in Windows 98. Windows NT falls into "might work" category.

It runs using OpenGl rendering which is DirectX independent. Anyway id Software officially supported NT4 with this game. There is OpenGL support in NT 3.51 but won't work with other iD Software games, they specifically check if the OS is NT 3.51 and refuse to run.

@@intel386DXYep, in theory games based on Unreal Engine dated 1998-2001should work in NT 3.51. I'm making a video right now about this. Besides Unreal & UT, I also tested Deus EX which works fine. Undying (2001) works too in NT 3.51, but the performance is poor.

@@O_mores cool! the funny thing about Unreal 2004 for example,is that it still have a software render and 320 x 240 resolution :D . And unreal 3 engine still have 320 x 240 resolution as well :D
