A few years before Scott Reiland turned 40 he set a goal to run a marathon before hitting that pivotal birthday. After a few six mile runs and an ill-advised 15 miler, he had a sore knee and found himself "burying a package of thin mints" on the couch. He never did accomplish that marathon goal before turning 40, but three years later, he properly trained and found himself lining up for the first annual "Cheap Marathon" run by Green Stride Races in Salisbury, Massachusetts.
This is story of Scott's journey through 26.2 miles of pain, freezing temperatures, an incredible cheering squad, and ultimate triumph.
