weird that i haven’t seen anyone praise the fact that you can just setup a training area wherever you want. that’s a nice touch for an open zone title, not always having to go through a loading zone, etc.

The transforming staff looks wild. I feel like they could have easily spilt 2 of the forms into a whole other weapon type.

i definitly intend on checking out this game. from the video the weapons i got most interested in playing were the katana, the umbrela, the claw and the staff. ill have to try for myself to chose a favourite

The Karakuri Staff has me REALLY interested (coincidentally, I'm a CB main lol) because two of its forms are literally weapons that I've been thinking that could be added to MH: The Staff and a "Boomerang" (in this case, a big ass shuriken). Whenever the discussion about new weapons shows up, I always talk about this two. A Staff could be a quick blunt weapon, while the boomerang could be either blunt or slash, but the important part is that it could be an actual mix between a melee and a ranged weapon, and Wild Hearts just shows up outta nowhere with these 2 weapons added! NOW I'm really interested in trying this game out and this'll probably be my main weapon, it's definitely the one that picked my interest the most, followed by thhe Bladed Wagasa. Using an umbrella as a weapon is just too good to pass on!

First time seeing your content and really enjoyed this video! It’s definitely pushed me closer to checking out Wild Hearts. The claw blade took first spot for me with the wagasa a fairly close second. I love status effect and immobilization / out maneuvering fight styles, though. Like, I could do the Chun-Li head stomp as my only attack for the rest of my life and probably never get tired of it. 😂

I've been thinking of playing the cannon mostly, and maybe the big bonk, but you might have convinced me to also try out the katana and the claw blade!

6:30 The charge time for Sheathed Nodachi vs Attacking Nodachi are actually slower or faster depending on what you are doing. If you aren't moving while charging, the charge for Sheathed Nodachi is faster than the charge for Attacking Nodachi. If you are moving while charging, the charge for Sheated Nodachi is slower than Attacking Nodachi. Also, the attacking animations are kind of long and can't be canceled or dodged out of when getting attacked causing you to lose whatever charge you gained. The best way, in my opinion, to play it is to mainly use Sheathed Charging so you can dodge and make springs to keep your charge going without getting hit (springs give you s when jumping from them as well as refilling stamina). Then use Attacking Nodachi when the monster is toppled or immobile to get extra damage while also building your charge for the big hit. After the big hit on a fallen or immobile kemono, you can immediately go back to charging animation and do Attacking Nodachi again so you can get off alot of damage and 2 big hits before you need to let stamina refill.

The Wasaga and staff are the two weapons I'm really gravitating towards. I usually go for the weapons that are more unique to that specific game, like the insect glaive in Monster Hunter.

Love the staff, by far my favorite! Each combo into the r2 upgrades the bar by one, but using basic karakuri like the box, spring etc into the r2 upgrades the meter by 2 bars. It's a fun weapon!!!

As a charge blade main, the karakuri staff will definitely have a special place in my arsenal. Something about the amount of versatility makes it quite enticing. Although the bladed wagasa is a close second place due to the mobility and the parry mechanic.

Definitely gonna use the staff it’s basically a charge blade, switch axe fusion.

With the Bow, it's probably better to use two crates instead of three. The Charge level is tied to crate height, so 2 crates puts you in Charge lv1 which immediately lets you use the rapid fire option instead of arc. Additionally it doesn't propel you as far back, allowing you to land back on the boxes to continue the loop. It works especially well on toppled monsters, allowing you to fit 2-3 explosions into a single topple; although there's still some consideration for maybe a level 2 vertical charge to explode, as it does more damage outright.

I am curious about the staff, but I’m a lance main and insta block is my baby so the umbrella might be a better play style for me. All of the weapons look fun though. I’m going to eventually try them all

I have not changed my mind, the Nodachi and the Karakuri staff are what I'm mostly interested in from the start. However, hearing you praise the Bladed Wagasa has reignited me interest in it. It was the weapon I liked the most before the reveal of the staff and Nodachi.

The staff looks fun as hell. I think I'll be doing that and the Wagasa for the "parry" mechanic.

For nodachi you can jump on spring while charging and release it mid air and use it like iai slash (with higher damage). with this mechanic you can charge then spawn the spring, jump and release it midair. With sidestep skill (you can get from eating, or inherent/inherited on gears) you can do more parry with wagasa (have more stamina). So far I mostly use Wagasa, but change weapons occasionally, all the weapons have interesting mechanics.

Imma be using either the umbrella or the staff although the cannon and the katana looks dope too.

I still want to try the bow BUT greatsword looks cool and I never thought I'd say I'm excited to fight with an umbrella!

CB/LS main here. Obviously the staff peaks my interest quite alot, but the umbrella and maul also look really fun

Bow unless it turns into that I need multiple for different elemental weaknesses. If I can use a non elemental bow for all content comfortably then bow all the way. Video did not change my opinion. However your video did show that if I have to switch (because of elemental reasons) then I may go hard hitting Cannon. @rurikhan do you have any info on elemental? I saw your video that there are elemental options in the weapon tree but do we know how necessary they will be for certain weapon types? For example bow in wolrd/iceborne fell off hard in later content unless you built for elemental weaknesses of the monster.

Okay, so as for what weapon I will using in this game: Before watching: Just the katana After watching: The katana and the staff As a switch axe main, how could not pick up the staff after seeing its moveset?

As a switch axe main in MH, you will be missed in Wild Hearts.

The katana, claw blade, and staff are gonna be my go-to melee weapons. I'll definitely pick up both bow and cannon.

Karakuri staff is gonna have all of my attention when i get it, i love weapons that transform too much to not go for that even if i have to learn some timing for it.

Every weapon looks super satisfying to use i cant wait to get my hands on the game. Hopefully they fix the performance issues.

Cannon is my favorite. Probably not the greatest dps of the weapons or anything, but I cannot resist giant lasers. The bladed wagasa part actually made the weapon look much more appealing. I was under the impression you had to consistently parry actual attacks to reliably build the gauge, since normal attacks did so little. I wasn't aware that parrying and then attacking used a different moveset that filled the gauge faster. That makes it a LOT more usable, even if you might struggle to parry actual attacks.

I'm 100% trying the umbrella first. I have a feeling though that I'll be way more effective with either Nodachi or the Maul as I am a Hammer and GS main in Monster Hunter. Bow and Cannon look pretty awesome too.

Wagasa will be the weapon that I will main because it's the closest thing we have to blocking and I had a hard time with the timing on the parry for the training dummy the first time around

Before playing I honestly thought I would want to play katana but then I used the staff and saw big bonkers damage and decided on that I also want to start using the bladed wagasa to force myself to master monsters completely, even though I feel wagasa is lacking for the amount of work to maintain the gauge and constantly output damage

I love the bow and claw blade. Haven't really clicked with anything else.

I tend to prefer faster hitting weapons just because I feel like they're slightly more consistent. I was mostly interested in the katana and wagasa, but I think I may land on the claw blade. Just being able to have that level of mobility around the monster seems amazing

Today i started playing via Eaplay, and have to say the umbrella is now fav even though i am really bad with the parry system

Definitely gonna keep playing the umbrella until I unlock the karakuri staff and then I'm probably gonna alternate. Claw Blade and Hand Cannon also look very appealing.

I thought I'd be an umbrella main but damn those all seem like awesome choices. Cannon seemed pretty meh but then Ruri pulled the "IMMA FIRIN MAH LASER!" And my eyes went wide. Can't wait to play me some Wonster Hunter.

I thought I'd end up going with the greatsword or hammer at the start of the video, but maaaan - you've sold me on the umbrella. It's a parry weapon. It's basically Lance with Glaive's aerials and Longsword's gauge management. SIGN ME UP.

Ok, I was going for the umbrella. Looked fun and I love the parrying system… then I saw the canon and my heart was stolen.

For the bow you can also use the glider instead of the boxes for the same effect

I spent over an hour with each weapon at the training dummy to see if I could use anything other than the katana. I couldn't get anywhere near the dps with any weapon like the katana. the bow was a close second and the great sword 3rd. the hammer mega combo was so hard for me to nail regularly. so frustrating how tight that activation window is on the combos.

The hammer and umbrella look fun to me. I'll try the staff too, but honestly it doesn't look too impressive to me. That looks like a really straight forward and simple approach to a 4-5 in one style of weapon. Like, it's seems to just be a just use morph attacks to build meter, with one definitive combo for all situations style weapon. The staff definitely looks the coolest, but it might not be for me

bow, I started rise with long sword (didn't like it much) swap to dual blades, over 200 hundred hunts with them, then, just by Borden, I tried Gunlance, fall in love with the weapon, then I watch some random stuff in tictok, a montage with bow, after 100 hunts, it became my favorite weapon, so yeah, in this game, bow actually requires skill, still broken as hell (my dudes, you can pull a 2000 combo with low rank bow in this game, that's insane) my secondary would the umbrella, for a very dumm reason, I like umbrellas XD

Before the video: Hammer. It's my main weapon in Monster Hunter and I generally like hammers in video games. After the video: Claw Blades. One of the few weapons that I like even more than Hammers are claws and those look pretty dang snazzy.

My current picks are probably the Bladed Wagasa > Karakuri Staff > Claw Blade. I'm still very much on the fence about this game, though, due to the lack in armor variety visually and the weapons seem very repetitive, like you're just repeating the same three moves all hunt in the same order. I really wish they would've released a demo, especially with the game costing so much money.

As a Long Sword main, either the katana, nodachi, or umbrella! Probably will start with Katana and then venture out to the nodachi/umbrella and see what clicks

Differently from MH where I actually dislike using some weapons (like the bow and the IG), the eight WH weapons are all interesting and I can see myself messing around with all of them. I'm not able to play this game but just from the looks of it I would say my favourite one could be either the cannon or the maul

Before watching: hammer Insect glaive main in me after watching: attack on titan/umbrella. Though they all look fun in their own right. I feel like the staff has too many forms, which maybe cheapens every sub weapon as a whole? Like you just want to cycle as fast as possible for the nuke. It would of been cool if different staffs had 2/4 forms? Idk i guess I'll find out when i play.

I still don't know if to get this game (cause I got Rise) but if I do, I'm between the katana, umbrella or the staff. More inclined for the staff to be honest cause like the idea of morphing weapons like bloodborne.

As a Hammer AND Great Sword main. Maul and Nodachi will get my attention first.

As a charge blade main I want to like the Karakuri Staff, but the thing I like about Charge Blade is that its different forms actually fill different purposes and needs. Sword and Board mode is more defensive with guard points and improved mobility, while Axe mode has big damaging combos in exchange for being more vulnerable. Meanwhile with the staff while it does visually have 4 different base forms, they're not really functionally any different from each other, they all just do a series of rapid hits with only maybe the shuriken appearing to fill a different role of having the longest reach, but even then you're directly incentivized to not really stick with one form for too long seeing as you gain charge by transforming rather than actually landing hits. So the actual playstyle of the weapon is just continually attack and transform between all the different base forms interchangeably, and then you use the Colossal Blade as a finisher, which means it's not even really its own form it's just a super attack. It's a weapon that looks super flashy and comes off as way more complicated than it really is. If you ignore the visual aspect of the weapon and just think of the moves, it's just a weapon with a bunch of fast hitting moves that you need to time a button press with to build meter, and then you can do another kind of move to spend all your built up meter. And while that may appeal to some, I personally don't think it strikes the same nerve as Charge Blade does to me even though that's what everyone compares it to.

i was a little bummed out when i found out the wagasa was a parry focused weapon but that combo you did on a "failed" parry gave you a big chunck of bar and makes it seem like you dont have to parry to get the bar up when you can just spam that attack

This is the first hunting game I have picked up the bow for (MH1 vet). did you know you can eternally charge attacks if you jump back onto a box.

As a S&S main in MH I'm sad there's no sword & board so I'll probably go claw main and bow secondary.

Umbrella or morph stick. Ever since I saw them in teasers I've been wanting to try them out. I'm a little disappointed that the Mary Poppins weapon is the tryhard parry weapon though.
