I have recently got back into mhgu and wow did I miss this gem of a game. Valor greatsword s draw attack is one of the best addition to the game.

I got into GU after playing through Iceborne and Rise, and all its done is increase my love and appreciation for MH as a whole. It's been a blast so far. My hunting buddies and I just got to G Rank a couple of nights ago, and we're all extremely excited for the content ahead of us

Ah generations. My first game and honestly a game that essentially changed my life. It was the first thing that truly gave me a main franchise

I play GU almost daily. It's easily my favorite MH game. Gaijin, you and any other prowler will always be welcome in my lobby. I think they're fun to play and funny to watch fight with you

I remember loving the idea of the heat gauge when i first heard about it Like the idea of allowing the weapon to be kinda broken but at a cost Then you realize that they took a weapon that was already technical and not that great and just kneecapped it while making it more technical… WHY?!?!

Man I miss MHGU. I have double cross and it’s still loaded but with all the extra stuff to do in stories 2 and rise… coupled with a back log of games Giving me sad looks when I walk by, kids, and life, I just haven’t had the time. :3

Generations Ultimate still has one of my favorite Monster Hunter soundtracks. Ever. Rise better not pull any punches with it's music in the ultimate edition or it'll have a tough time breaking through to my number one spot.

In response to 1:16:50 Gaijin, the whole thing with MTG sideboards (or sidedecks, however you wanna call em) is that they are to be used in Tournaments, where you play best of 3 / best of 5 matches, and after the first match, you can side-in any number of cards from your sideboard. It's not like you'll know what decks your opponents will be playing when you go to a tournament, you can only make a sideboard for the things you EXPECT to be facing. I do agree that using the sideboard when playing with a friend can be weird (unless you are playtesting for a tournament, of course).

I had so many funny experiences with Prowlers in XX back before GU came out. People used to get really into role-playing it and typing with the Japanese cat puns. It was kind of cute. They'd always beg me not to leave when I had to quit, too. Probably because of that anti-Prowler bias that kept others from joining.

I definitely want to jump into Generations Ultimate after Rise Ultimate comes out and there's a long gap for the Nintendo side of MH games. But damnit if I don't keep slowly remembering all the things that World and Rise left behind. Yesterday I remembered I'll need to craft separate armor for my blades and guns.

Is it just me who thinks this but i see much more people play MHGU. Everytime a go online there's a bunch of low rank players going thru the game for the first time and a lot of high level players still farm monsters. I'm really glad more and more people discover GU, such a good MH game.

I am so waiting for the next MHGU Sales, I missed it last December it costed around 20€ :(

Gotta say I didn’t use narga for a while for the stealth until the other day when I genuinely raged for the first time at stories because I was on a hell blade super rare den and I got caught out by an iodrome and it’s 2 ioprey managed to poison me to death

ooooh its my chance to be THAT GUY! Sideboard in competitive magic is good. It gives decks a chance against other decks that are bad matchups. There is opportunity cost to running an anti white card as you stated and so the player has to think about what tools in their sideboard will generally be the best to cover ALL matchups. Usually they build against the meta, since those will be the decks they are most likely to see. This is also why building interesting and effective decks outside the meta can be rewarding. My 2 cents as a competitive Standard Magic player for a bunch of years. (10th edition to like the rerelease of ravnica)

The bit about using bloodlust on a level one goblin twice to do nine damage, only to use fling to kill the goblin and do nine more damage just made me laugh. The Whole time he was talking about this, I imagined it happening in my head with a big hob goblin tossing the little goblin beaming the sorcerer in the face, all the other goblins cackling like lunatics after. I’m sorry, but I just love that sort of crazy stuff in any fantasy game period.

I'd really like prowlers to come back. Add some layered armors that change the sound effects to the other Lynian races, it would be great. I wanna blow up some monsters my bomb cat Tank again.

When I did it, oh man did it ever give me a tick whenever a normal Nargacuga moved. That was fun!

Just recently, I saw a room with prowlers only, we demolished monsters, it was so fun.

i soloed GU with beast mode prowler. GU is the only monster hunter i've beaten G rank in.

Makes me sad to hear HH and prowler are bottom teir in MHGU. I got my friend and my daughter playing prowler mode and we trounced it within 2 days, those cats were so OP by the time we finished. When I solod I used HH and getting into G Rank with it was the most challenging thing, and I did a run through with every weapon in GU.

I've missed Seltas and seltas queen on MH World/IB and now on Rise, F for the Neopterons

My HR is around ~440 and I have yet to beat a quest with SnS or GL. My guild card literally says 0 hunts with them. At this point i refuse to touch them just to preserve the 0s lol.

Don't get me wrong I agree with Ruri and his stance on Diablo 2 remake but I feel that a minority of men that are doing horrible things at a massive company shouldn't be able to take away the success of the victims that fought through it to do what they love but I'm also very ignorant on all that went down and indecisive if I'm going to support Diablo 2 or not.

I played the demo, and it was fun, but it just wasn't my cup of tea, but since I came from rise and haven't played any other monster hunter games, I decided to buy MHGU instead, and I am super happy

I have a Portuguese friend who speaks English with a Portuguese accent. Rurikhan's English-speaking accent sounds almost nothing like that. It almost sounds like a New York City accent. From watching too many Scorsese movies? Gaijin's accent sounds Midwestern/Chicagoan.

Still hate the first MH, but the old school vibes are just fuckin peachy. I LOVE me some mfn MH! Edit: I bought that bitch physical for $40 n I'd do it again. I wouldn't actually do it again but I'll say I would cuz this game is amazing.

"The Dirty secrets of the GUILD." Dude, I'm p-sure it's just Wyverians in general. Espeacially the older ones, they know shit and they're keeping things way under wraps. Like even the conception of the "Wyacademy" which sounds like the same overall idea as the Royal Paleontological Scriviners EXCEPT they're way more under the thumb of the Guild, which is overall ran by Wyverians. There's also the fact that Wyverians are basically just Elven dragon born. This just adds to their shadiness. Iunno man, a race that's been around that long, and has potentially seen an entire Civ collapse and they just keep their mouths shut under the ruse of, "OH that was a legend."
