Agreed sir. As a percussionist. For 45 years my influence. Always bought more equipment. Temple blocks. A gong. Ok with me. I bought my first 16 pc set at 16. The more the better to play. Mancini picked me to play at 1 concert. Good enough for me. I did play for the USAF. But I didn't pursue to be a professional. Logistics and civil engineering more my thing.

At the beginning of the that tour they played at an ice skating rink outside of Chicago. There were (maybe) 500 people in attendance, most to see opening act Kansas. Two months later, they sold out a solo gig at the 2500 seat Riviera Theatre in Uptown. I was fortunate to be at both shows.

I was inducted into the Rush universe at age 11 and, as a precocious young lad immersed in music courtesy my parents, I began to consume every Rush release. In 1979, my mind is blown by 2112 before I retreated down the rabbit hole into Caress of Steel. Thus began my obsession with Rush that spanned several decades. People laughed at me in junior high because I was different. I laughed because they were all the same.

Great point. Prog rock wasn't really a thing. The best music that came from Canada besides rush was heart. I think they were just getting started as well. So you figure what was big in music back then. Blues rock, disco, funk, punk. The first record came out in 74 if I'm not mistaken. And John Rutsy was on drums. Very different time.

I remember buying 2112 from Sam the Record Man on Yonge st. in Toronto when I was 13 years old. Rush is by far my favorite band all-time! This never gets old for me and I feel the same way anytime I hear anything off 2112!!

2112 was the first album I heard from Rush. Since then, I have been a loyal Rush fan. I am saddened by the passing of Neil Peart. He was a man of integrity, wisdom, depth and grace. He will never be forgotten. His legacy will live well past 2112.

God, I love to hear three virtuoso's play together. Every song is an amalgamation of three great musicians "soloing". THAT is Rush.

God thank you for an amazing childhood. Sitting on your floor with your new album, cover art, reading eveyword like your life depended on it. You sing along with the lyrics. Over and over and over and over and that's not enough. Can't wait to save up and go to the mall, hit up the listening booth, all day Saturday. 🙌 Thank you...

Rush never get complacent with their live performances. Some bands get lazy with age and you can hear it but not these guys.
