Straight to the high point in this video: Lifeson's solo in Soliloquy at 11:07. Wow. By far the best version of this solo I've seen or heard. He's totally in the zone, letting loose, and improvising in ways that elevate this even beyond the studio take, putting his full body into it. It's one of those transcendent moments that truly puts the "live" in live music. It's not often cited as a favorite Lifeson solo (La Villa, Freewill, etc.), but it's one among many of Lifeson's deeper solo tracks that blows the mind upon a closer, active listen. Even on the original studio cut, the deep tone, prolonged bends, pinched harmonics, wailing and mournful ups and downs.... an incredibly expressive piece that perfectly conveys the longing despair in the lyrics. Lifeson's a true musical genius.

What a gorgeous, phenomenal live version of this masterpiece. I saw the original 2112 tour as a teenager...and Rush became the soundtrack of my life. No band will ever come close to being as individually and collectively musically talented as this band...each a virtuoso on his instrument...and Neal such a lyrical genuis. Neal is the reason I became a drummer...and my soul weeps from him passing away. May you rest in peace Professor....LONG LIVE RUSH !!!!

He looked at me with sadness, then anger and then a calmness and a smile...tomorrow i will bring you my favorite Rush Album for you to hear...sure enough he graced me with a copy "2112". He said to me keep it as long as you want, but listen to it and learn to appreciate it's beauty and power....it has been 40 years still the power and the beauty of these boys from toronto still rock my world today. God bless Alex, Geddy and may you be at peace Mr. Peart your words and music still shape my soul and life today......and somewhere in the universe...Mike, THANK YOU! For giving me the gift of RUSH!

This tour was easily my favorite Rush concert. The night I saw them the sound was phenomenal (kudos to their sound engineer) and Geddy was on it, just shrieking his lungs out. Front to back an outstanding concert but when 2112 started everyones arms shot up and the roar was deafening, one of those "holy shit, it's really going to happen. We're going to hear the entire 2112, they're really going to do it" moments.

Yes Mr Mc Graw. I was there for this epic moment. When they started playing 2112 no one could believe their ears. Molson Ampitheatre is a natural, outdoor amphitheater on Lake Ontario, just steps from „lakeside park”. The band was in their element and you could only imagine these beautiful sounds sent screaming into the heavens. And yes, I would sell everything I own too just to go back to that concert now truly knowing what I experienced.

I saw this show May 26, 1997. This video is from Toronto 1 month after i saw them but this is the same "show" I saw. Me and my sister flew from Maine to Washington state to see this concert at the Gorge Amphitheater with family that lived out there. In '97, there was no social media so we didn't know what to expect from this concert other than the stuff they'd obviously play and stuff from the new T4E album. This is the tour where they pulled "Natural Science" out of the vault and we nearly shit ourselves when Alex started with the acoustic riff. The crowd went nuts!! But when they kicked into the start of 2112, we all shit ourselves again but we had ZERO clue they were going to do the entire 2112 story before eyes. 25 of the greatest minutes of my life spent at that venue in the Columbia River Basin as they banged off the entire side one of 2112. We were hammered but man we were coherent enough to know we were witnessing what was probably the greatest Rush concert ever since before the R30 in Rio, this crowd at the Gorge was the biggest audience Rush had ever performed for in their history. While the R40 farewell concert in Boston was one of the best Rush shows I ever saw, it still was second to the T4E Tour 1997. I will never ever ever forget that as long I am breathing.

Mark Keith that was good but...... Vintage Rush was Pre 1980! Way way before all the commercial success way before all the fan boys hoped on the Rush Train. I saw Permenant waves tour - That was 2112!!!! Duel double necks and all! Phenomenal!

Rush's best work was back in the 70's. Totally agree. Rush's long song era.

Undoubtedly the single most influential drummer of all time. There are many other great, great players but none taught so many so much. His profound influence cannot be overestimated and will be felt for decades to come. Godspeed, Neil Peart.

I just stumbled across this ,the other day. I had no idea there was a video of this show and of such quality. I saw them on that tour, but at the Palace of Auburn hills, Michigan. This video is amazing...their performance is amazing!! I am blown away by this. I'm not sure if Rush felt it, but it seems to me this was one of those magical performances, where they were all playing in top form and locked into it . Geddy's vocals are amazing on this, as is Alex's guitar ...and Neil's drumming. Just amazing. Love this. Thanks for posting.

Jesus ... RIP Neil Peart. What a loss. 2112 and All The World's A Stage were a huge part of my personal and musical growth as a kid in the late seventies. Reading Ghost Rider about Neil's healing after losing his daughter and wife by riding his BMW across continents was also pivotal in my later life. What an incredibly multi faceted human being he was.
