@@PUBHEAD1 the coated heads are not snappy, that's part of the problem for me. Way too warm. I prefer his drum sound from the 1978-1981 era over all others. Clear heads, super aggressive attack that cut right through (ESL is a good example). I did not like the dw sound for him, especially with the coated ambassadors. I totally agree...I think it's because they weren't very popular with the younger crowds in 96/97, therefore being considered classic rock at that point but they were on the top of their game musically on that album. I'm not sure how heavily MTV put the videos they did for Test for Echo into rotation either...That would've helped promote the album more as well.

A few weeks later Neil's daughter died in a car crash and 10 months after his wife died of cancer. And Rush was almost gone for good. It took over four years for Neil to recover and get behind the drums again, to give us more music and joy. And now he is gone too and it seems they will never play again.

Thomas Seixas I’ve read that he has a deformed nail on that hand that he’ll use in both directions. That being said, you can do it without one - just keep trying it and make sure you’ve got a good rhythm and eventually your callouses will adapt. I've read all of his books, I've seen all of his videos, I've seen dozens of live concerts. Which one was he? I know he was an icon, and a bird watcher. I know he was rock star, and the husband/father of the great people in his most personal life. Drummer, author, artist, cyclist, traveler, explorer, lyricist, dreamer, motor sports enthusiast, husband, father.........I truly believe he became the person outside of the "greatest drummer of all time." IDK, I'm becoming sentimental these days. I SOOO appreciate who he was outside of the fish-eye lense, the gilded cage. I believe he was the person outside of the Limelight.
