This man really, truly is the main reason that Doctor Who is on television today. David Tennant was a major factor, but it all goes back to Russell, he was the catalyst.

Keep in mind, RTD supported Chibs with a lot of the decisions that destroyed the show. It might still be pretty woke and might not be that different. Just because he ran such an amazing era all that time ago, doesn’t mean he’ll do the same again.
@Cem_

@@therestorationofdrwho1865 I don't think so, The biggest problem of the Chibnall era was the way it handled the story outside of the story. I think the idea of Timeless Child was nice, but it wasn't handled well enough. I think most people would like the same if RTD wrote a different story with a different way of working. Yes, maybe he may not write a great season in the future, but I definitely have full faith that he will write something good.

I never used to be a fan of Sci fi but Doctor Who had me shaking in excitement for the next episode, gave me Goosebumps and was the first show to make me cry. You know I don't care if only liking that era doesn't make me a true whovian or if the show was meant to be traditional, childish sci fi but RTD was my childhood and few films or programmes can compare to the excitement I had back then. It was RTD Who that inspired me to write and inspired me to live. Moffat just can't do that for me.

I think that Steven Moffat's stories have better plots than RTD's. On the other hand RTD's stories have more emotion. That's why I slightly prefer his work. But, after all everybody has their opinions. Still, even the ones who prefer Moffat over RTD, they shouldn't hate on him, because without him there would be no new DW and they wouldn't have a reason to argue about them...

RTD-era Who truly was the show’s golden period. He forged an entire universe of characters spanning 3 phenomenal shows. His scripts weren’t always masterpieces, but they were always fun, entertaining and a great release from the toils and pressures of everyday life. We’ll never see anything like it again. It saddens me deeply to see the show as it is today, dominated by politics, agendas and lectures. They’ve completely lost sight of what Doctor Who is supposed to be and it’s sleepwalking its way towards cancellation.

That way is good too, but the idea of one storyline stretching over a entire Doctor's run is something that I think is really cool. Considering Matt Smith is the first time it's been attempted, I'm willing to cut Moffat some slack. My hope is he takes what he learned with this one, and does it better with Capaldi.

Oh, ok. I see what you mean. I'm actually fine with a lot of those. When I think reset button, I think something that comes up last minute and just seems to be there to bring the episode back to how it was at the beginning. With everything you mentioned, the reset was actually built into the plot and had a purpose in the story. Also I believe you are wrong about FAS. The people the angels killed stayed dead, despite the angels being deleted from time,like how Amy survived, but her parents didn't
