This is a lot of revisionist history. I distinctly remember Wilson having some nearly miraculous drives and extended plays that helped lead the Seahawks to wins in the regular season, playoffs, and superbowl. All of that in conjunction with a great defense.

Because Wilson cost them 8 players not 5. The draft picks plus 3 players on top. One of the players given to Seattle was a first round pick (Noah Fant) and Drew Lock was a second round pick. So the Broncos did give up three first rounders and three second rounders a 5th rounder and a defensive lineman Shelby Harris who was a decent player

Problem was they wanted him to push back his injury guarantee and then play without it. Not only that but he declined because they already told him he wasn’t their future. If I’m Wilson, yall not finna make me play without my injury protection when we was Cousins, Rodger’s, and many other QBs get hurt this year. I’ll ride the bench and continue to collect my check because that’s dumb on Wilson’s part. He gets injured and then what?

But Wilson has to look out for himself. And he did. He still gets paid, saved his body from two games, and kept the injury guarantee. Meanwhile the broncos have to invest in yet another QB and eat 85 million dollars in cap. They won’t be able to pay all their 2020 draft class due to it either

Hackett, the GM, and Sean Payton deserve blame for parts of the last 2 seasons. But Russ coming in not ready to play and to lead in 2022 really shaped the narrative for this whole situation. The LoB would never have sniffed a SB if not for Russ. They were around for two seasons with Marshawn Lynch before Russ was drafted, and the team went 7-9 in back-to-back seasons. I watched what went down in Seattle. Russ carried that team from 2014 to 2020, period!

Mercifully after two years of bad Russell wilson takes and not holding him accountable and making excuses, this group finally comes to the same conclusion as I had about when he was in Seattle. 11:16 that’s a HORRIBLE point Acho. Pete Carrol was able to get them into the playoffs THE FIRST SEASON without Russ & proving he could do it with a “lesser” qb who NO ONE thought of as a starter. Same record the second season & barely missed the playoffs. In my opinion that wasn’t ego, it was a coaching decision…apparently the same one Sean Payton made YEAR ONE with Russ

All I can say (Seahawks fan here). For YEARS watching the Seahawks offense was incredibly painful --you would only know that if you watched the games instead of looking at the record. They always struggled at doing much throughout the game. It almost seemed like it was always 5 minutes left in the game and they would miraculously pull out a win with some almost "freestyle magic 2 minute drill". So IMO, Russ was never a system QB. The LOB kept the Seahawks in games long enough for Russ to be clutch to pull out a win. That is what makes the trade so mindblowing; most seahawks fans knew he was not what the hype portrayed.
