Those are the 2 largest plants still in operation. I really don't know what their capacities are today. Malyshev is gigantic. You're not putting that place out of commission with anything less than a nuke.

They had their chances for concentrated attacks when Ukraine was running low on ammunition, apart from wave after wave of probing and exploitation attacks they made progress but very slowly and most importantly costly. Defenses around Kharkiv don't seem to be on the level they should, probably due to resources being needed basically everywhere along the front especially the parts that have been hot for months or years now. Now that the ammo supply is at least not as dire, concentrating troops seems like an even worse idea, so harassing the Northern front to bind resources is probably the best move, again to find weak points and exploit especially when they can supply these attacks from their own turf. We'll see how this plays out, the news that Ukraine for the first time in years does not suffer a shell shortage solves at least one issue but there's lots of political will from the west needed to get their army into a state where they can recapture all their territory.

Russia trying to exploit Ukraine's manpower problems it seems, been working for them somewhat this past month.

It's not that hard to figure out, it's to make the manpower situation on the frontlines even worse for Ukraine, because they'd have to divert forces to counter the Russian offensive action. This could also be to create a buffer zone in order to limit Ukrainian shelling of Belgorod and bring Kharkov into short range Artillery Fire. Kharkov definitely is a target for Russia, considering it's strategic and culturally historical meaning. Just to share some insight, before the Ukrainians remembered to create their own national identity after 2014, Kharkov was considered as good as Russian by both Ukrainians and Russians.
